Angry Passenger Destroys JetBlue Check-In Counter At JFK After Demanding To Be Sent To Haiti

Man Destroys JetBlue Check-In Counter JFK Haiti

An angry passenger wreaked havoc on a JetBlue check-in counter at New York JFK, purportedly after being denied a ticket on a flight to Port-au-Prince, Haiti.

Man Destroys JetBlue Check-In Counter At JFK In Anger Over Flight To Haiti

As political turmoil rages and violence continues to proliferate in Haiti, air service remains limited. JetBlue has continued its daily service (B6 935 and 634) between JFK and the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince (PAP), providing a vital lifeline between the US and Haiti.

Flight attendant Jay Roberts, who runs the popular A Fly Guy account across social media channels, described an incident that occurred at the check-in counters in Terminal 5 by a violent man who did not even have a ticket to Haiti, but wanted a seat on the flight:

Less than three weeks after a Haitian man attacked an American Airlines check-in counter with a hammer over ticket issues in Santiago, Chile, another check-in counter—this time JetBlue’s at JFK—was ransacked by a violent passenger demanding to be placed on the next JetBlue flight to Haiti.

It’s unclear what triggered the man’s outburst, but he could be heard shouting that he wanted to leave the “godforsaken country” while he knocked over check-in kiosks and trash cans.

Eventually, a lone police officer intervened and escorted the man out of the terminal.

Other comments suggested the man’s sister had recently been murdered and he was trying to get back to Port Au Prince.

On Dogs And Cats And Empathy…

We heard the strange lie this week that Haitian immigrants are eating dogs, cats, and other household pets and from all the research I have done, I see no basis for such claims.

I do see a nation under attack (Haiti, that is) and also a humanitarian crisis that cries out for our support…or at least our empathy.

Of course, our empathy cannot excuse violence and destruction. There is no excuse for this anger and display of violence and this man, to the degree possible, should have to pay up for the damage he is directly and solely responsible for.

But if this man was looking for a free one-way ticket back to Haiti, this wasn’t a bad option…except he’ll be on an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) aircraft in shackles instead…

Trump should campaign that the migrants are destroying America….

“They are destroying the JetBlue counter at JFK. Along with Biden-Harris, they are killing JetBlue by denying the link up with AA and with Spirit… Make JetBlue Great Again!”

That would be more effective but less funny that the Haitians eating your dog.

Even the Pope endorses Trump! He said to vote for the lesser of 2 evils, that Harris likes abortion and Trump likes deportation. He did not use the words “I endorse Trump” though. He is more diplomatic than that.

As for me, I endorse neither. I endorse any candidate who will make our miles (points) great again! Seriously, I vote for the candidate who will make Medicare great again. Both have cut Medicare but refuse to admit it.

I feel like you obviously know what you’re doing by talking about a Haitian man being violent at the airport. It’s very good engagement baiting for your increasingly right-wing/MAGA adjacent audience, as this is a hot topic in their community right now.

It’ll get the clicks, but know that this is the kind of readers and comments you’ll garner with this type of content.

You can see I felt the need to comment on the recent Ohio/Trump controversy when writing about this. I certainly agree this may bring out some broad-based bigotry against Haitians that I do not endorse which is why I had to address the matter beyond just this JFK incident.

        Your story reports that : ” I do see a nation under attack ( Haiti , that is ) … ” .

Actually the only people attacking Haiti are the Haitians themselves , including their predatory gangs .

Haiti itself appears unable to establish an orderly society within Haiti .

You may possibly be referring to people in Ohio complaining to their town about the Haitians , but they are not “attacking” anyone , and their complaints are not “some broad-based bigotry ” .

The population of Springfield dropped 20,000 during the pandemic. Employers could not fill jobs. The Haitians came legally and are filling the jobs, paying taxes, and rent and on the path to citizenship. Not subsidized. They have made property values increase, not fall. If you prefer an actual working class as opposed to a community on the dole, Haitians would be the better choice.

Actually most arrived ILLEGALLY and were retrospectively made legal through the expansion of “temporary protective status” by the current administration. Intellectual integrity goes a long way if you want to have a serious conversation about a contentious subject.

@ Gaybe pilot, according to the republican governor they were processed in at the border. They are not illegally here. They found vacant jobs in a failing city , now pay taxes and support the community with their hard earned wages. What is wrong with that?

            September 14, 2024 at 3:45 pm

@gaybepilot … You are correct . The majority did come ILLEGALLY . Same as the West Africans taking boats from France to Britain . The citizens have every right to voice their complaints . But , (a) politicians do not have have the will to deport them , and (b) the braver citizens complain , and are ignored . The U.S. has poor citizens , and they ought to be given the same assistance that the politicians give to the illegal foreigners . Trump won the debate on this issue alone , because the citizens have eyes .,

Myorkas is violating federal law by allowing mass importation of migrants via the parole process. It is actually to be done only on a case by case basis. All done to improve the “optics” of the southern border chaos.

Section 1182(d)(5)(A) grants discretion to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to temporarily “parole” an alien who is applying for admission to the United States into the country “only on a case-by-case basis for urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit.”

The population of Haiti in 2022 was estimated to be around 11.68 million. As of 2024, the population of Haiti is approximately 11.9 million people. The country’s growth rate is around 1.2% per year, with an increase of about 143,000 individuals over the past year.
So then, based on basic elementary school arithmetic would indicate that your term “millions of Haitians” would be possibly racist but certainly at the very least inaccurate?

@Matthew: There is absolutely no bigotry against Haitians or any other immigrants as long as there is some sort of civility in the way they are treated. Dumping thousands of them in a small city without any support may not be a good idea.

Maybe you should read this article. Hard to trust anything you read today but it seems accurate. Also, when you say “show me proof” you are basically saying that what people are reporting is a lie unless you see a video of them eating the animals. Good for you.

@Aaron: I am not defending the guy. He is actually a deplorable person but so is his competitor. Unfortunately, those are the only choices America has today. I come from a country where there are sometimes over 60 parties competing in the election so I learned to vote on policies instead of picking a party or a person. I couldn’t care less who is implementing the policies as long as I agree with them. I find Americans absolutely clueless when it comes to elections. They follow a party and no matter who is representing that party, a great person, a deplorable person or an insect, they will always vote on that party. Too bad.

That’s why you shouldn’t care about race, gender, etc… of the president because that is absolutely meaningless. Those people will be gone. If you like Kamala’s policies (please name one that you know so I can learn) you then vote on her policies and not for her.

In ALL the research you did, did you purposely leave out that Springfield residents have reported that they were butchering geese and ducks from the lake? There was also two official complaints to the police done about it, but they weren’t caught.

Back in the late ‘90’s, LAN Chile (the OG LAN/LATAM) had a long AOG at JFK and partnered with a tour company to do a PAP turn.

I don’t recall how long the service lasted but the management of T7 shut it down because the cops were there everyday and the agents handling the flight felt unsafe.

So no, Haitians misbehaving at JFK is nothing new.
