The Marco Polo Club at Venice Airport is an exceptional lounge with great amenities.
We had allowed plenty of time to drive from the Dolomites down to Venice and arrived with some time to spare before our EasyJet flight to Paris.
Thankfully, the Marco Polo lounge was located directly adjacent to our gate, allowing for a leisurely half hour prior to boarding. This is a Priority Pass Lounge so access for my colleague and me was included as a benefit of both my American Express Platinum and Chase Sapphire Reserve card.
Marco Polo Club (VCE) Seating
The lounge comfortably seats about 200 people. It was crowded, but I had no trouble finding a seat. I addition to a large main seating room, there is a side seating room, rear seating room in a cool room filled with vines and trees, and even a ovular room with individual TVs.
Marco Polo Club (VCE) Patio
If you’re a smoker or just wish to take in some tarmac views (and the smell of jet fuel), a spartan patio offers a number of uncomfortable chairs. This lounge could learn a few things from the great patio at the Star Alliance Lounge at LAX.
Marco Polo Club (VCE) Restrooms
No showers, but marble restrooms ofter a quartet of private toilets and sinks.
Marco Polo Club (VCE) Dining
We arrived hungry. I wasn’t expecting much, but the food in the lounge greatly exceeded my expectations. In addition to the expected selection of salads, there was a very fresh green salad and both a delicious hot eggplant dish and lasagna.
The lasagna was very tasty, especially for an airport lounge.
Drinks, including beer and wine, were also complimentary.
There was even a great selection of desserts.
Marco Polo Club (VCE) Coffee
My favorite part of the lounge, however, was the barista-made coffee. It was afternoon and not wanting to be rude, I opted for a macchiato instead of a cappuccino. Wow…amazing, amazing, amazing!
I’d pay a few Euros just for a coffee like this outside the lounge…the coffee alone made the visit worthwhile.
CONCLUSION
This is actually one of those lounge I’d plan arriving early for. You can have a nice meal and great coffee before your flight…it beats even business catering on most European airlines.
Would it be available on arrival?
Yes.
I was just there in August, it is definitely a departure only lounge and requires a boarding pass to scan along with your Priority Pass card to enter. As well the majority of flights arriving at this airport are bus gates which drop you outside of security, and security will not let you pass without a same day departing flight.
Fortunately on my outbound flight from Venice, I was able to use the lounge and it is a nice lounge.
Couldn’t agree more….great lounge…breakfast is great too!
The 80’s kid in me lovessssss that marble.
Given the name, is it a Cathay Pacific-owned lounge?
I was there yesterday! I agree, this was a great place to spend an hour or two before a flight. They even had Prosecco available, which I used to mix a great Bellini!
Of course I was there last summer during the brief time it was not in the PP network
Lounge is great – I agree but I wish they had a dedicated kids area. Parents playing really loud kids tv shows which is just rude and infuriating for other guests. If they will allow children they should cater for them in a special seating area… I really liked this lounge (especially compared to other intershengen lounges) before these children turned up…
Parents playing really loud kids TV shows should be strangled with a spare pair of earphones. What is so difficult in the concept of using earphones in public spaces?
I’ve asked people a couple of times if they could use earphones. In most cases they realize they’re doing something unacceptable.
is it possible to visit this lounge without boarding pass after security
No. Boarding pass must be presented.
Hey, I must correct you Matthew. I was just there at this lounge a few weeks ago. And enjoyed a shower during my stay. I have pictures showing what the shower amenities were like.
Thanks. I’ll update the post. Feel free to send me an email at first.last @gmail.
I found this lounge terrible for food and beverages. No spirits at all. One beer hidden away that you have to ask for. Yes, has some wine, but not much of a selection. Even the selection of cold non-alcoholic drinks is pretty As for food, not impressed either A few sandwiches, small salad, No fresh fruit at all. . Perhaps has something to do with COVID protocols.
The only positive was nice seating, clean washrooms , but that’s all
I left my raincoat there. How do I get it back?
