Greetings from Zürich. I was invited to attend the Zürich segment of the Hyatt Master’s of Food and Wine – Tour of the World 2011 and will be in Switzerland the next few days taking part in various activities and hopefully finding some time to relax.
The festivities began on Monday, but I was only able to slip out of the office this afternoon. Tomorrow, I will take part in a city tour arranged by the hotel then journey to Rafz in the afternoon for a chance to see a local winemaker’s vineyard and for the opportunity to bottle my own red wine. Friday there will be a “Specialities from Lake Zürich” dinner at the Park Hyatt’s Parkhuus restaurant that I am very much looking forward to.
Look for updates on Twitter over the next couple days as I enjoy what might be the final temperate days of the year–autumn is coming and the pleasant 75ºF weather will not last.
Wow… Rafz… in the middle of nowhere. Not necessarily Switzerland’s prime region for vineyards. But then again if the Park Hyatt recommended it, it can’t be that bad.
If you’re looking for a special restaurant, try http://www.oepfelchammer.ch/ a century old restaurant in the old town of Zurich with carvings in the wooden walls from guests. A unique place.
Schöne Grüsse aus Zürich
