For those who love a liquid breakfast, I can’t think of a better lounge than the oneworld lounge at LAX.
Two words: coffee and juice. If you know me, you know I’m obsessed about that for breakfast.
And while there are other lounges like the nearby Qantas First Class Lounge and United Polaris Lounge in Terminal 7 that also offer fresh juice and good coffee, I just love the set-up in the oneworld lounge.
There are coffee machines in the lounge, but for the love of everything decent…avoid them. Please avoid them! (perhaps I am being too overdramatic, here) But seriously, the barista-made coffee is so nice. I love the Vittoria coffee from Australia.
But that’s not all. This lounge has a juicer. That’s right, do-it-yourself fresh-squeezed juice. There’s plenty of ingredients to choose from. I mixed in celery, carrots, watermelon, apple, and kale. It made for a nice drink. I later had a glass of orange juice, a glass of apple juice, and a glass of kale juice (with a bit of apple). A sugar overload to be sure, but still very nice.
And if that’s not your thing, there is fresh fruit, including berries, bircher muesli and yogurt, bread and pastries, scrambled eggs and sausage, oatmeal, and miso soup. Something for everyone.
My son approved…
(yes, I cleaned the table first)
Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day and I love the breakfast in the oneworld lounge at LAX. I just wish they’d have the huevos rancheros like Delta does in Terminal 2…

Where is your favorite lounge for breakfast?
So folks manhandle that fruit and then you drink whatever comes off of it and out of the juicer? I guess it’s no worse than buffet tongs…
I think the term “liquid (insert meal)” tends to refer to alcohol. Also this or Qantas first?
Qantas First is better, though I think the coffee is better in oneworld lounge.
Came here for Bloody Mary & Mimossa porn. Left disappointed 🙂
Sorry to disappoint.
Juice is one of America’s greatest con jobs, now embraced around the world. Nothing but concentrated liquid poison with minor vitamin content. Particularly orange juice.
The purveyors of these boxed juice drinks for kids, copious sugar added, belong in jail. They are no better than drug dealers or big tobacco, and only marginally better than the pure evil that is Coke/Pepsi.
So now you’re going to battle me on juice as well as the meat? I never drink boxed/bottled juice with water + sugar + concentrate. But here we are talking about whole fruits and veggies blended into a glass. Just a different way of eating it. It was thick juice – the rinds/skin got blended as well.
Matt – tend to agree with Paolo.
Juice is absolutely TERRIBLE for you – basically sugar water. Please do a few searches and come to your own conclusion, but I think you will be surprised how bad it is for one’s health (unless you only use greens).
Easiest remedy, just eat the orange and apple instead.
But if I am just blending up whole oranges, apples, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries, what is the difference? I would never drink processed stuff.
Ask a registered dietician. The juicer keeps all the fiber that is needed by your intestines to prevent colon cancer and reduce the glycemic index of elevated blood glucose levels.
No, your way is the best if you want juice. My pet hate is the boxed drinks ( seen in airport lounges all over), plus the fresh juice phenomenon that involves consuming the sugar contained in perhaps 5 oranges for example ,but without any of the benefits of eating the fruit whole. It’s a marketing ploy…and it’s both unhealthy and unnecessary.
I tend to agree. I know “Naked” juice, for example, is a sham.
But I’d much rather have four fresh oranges squeezed into a glass than ice cream, candy, cocktails, or other sweets.
Yes, but the sugar is 4 oranges alone would be much larger than your recommended daily sugar intake, The point of fruit is to eat them, as they make you full and provide the obvious health benefits.
Also, yes, a glass of fresh OJ is better than the sweets you mentioned. But that is the wrong way to look at it. Everything is relative.
