“Accidental” Plane Crash Apparently Kills Yevgeny Prigozhin

A private jet carrying Russian warlord Yevgeny Prigozhin, at least according to the passenger manifest, has crashed north of Moscow, likely killing the embattled head of the Wagner mercenary group who staged an attempted coup against Vladimir Putin earlier this summer. Isn’t it interesting how anyone who crosses Putin seems to face an untimely demise?

Embraer Jet Thought To Be Carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin Crashes In Russia

A report from Rosaviatsiya, the Russian aviation agency, confirms that Prigozhin was among the three pilots and seven passengers onboard the Embraer Legacy 600, which crashed earlier today in the Tver region.

Witnessed reported a loud “bang” followed by a jet falling from the sky. Unconfirmed video of the wreckage has emerged on social media, but it appears the tail numbers matches that of Prigozhin’s aircraft.

The Embraer Legacy 600 is a business jet derivative of the Embraer ERJ 145 family of commercial jet aircraft most closely modeled after the ERJ-135. It has an excellent safety record since it first launched in 2001.

62-year-old Prigozhin staged a failed coup in July using his army of mercenaries. Although Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko purportedly negotiated an agreement to keep Prigozhin alive via an exile to Belarus, Prigozhin has been seen many times in the preceding weeks within the Russian Federation and even met with Putin.

Putin’s enemies, real or perceived, tend not to stay alive very long. While some fall out of windows, you do have to wonder what caused this plane crash.

And in this web of intrigue, it may be that Putin did not even arrange it…maybe Prigozhin staged it himself in order to be able to truly disappear. Bodies have been reportedly pulled from the plane…his body, thus far, is not one of them.

CONCLUSION

There’s intrigue and much speculation of foul play concerning an Embraer aircraft crash in Russia today in which Yevgeny Prigozhin was through to be onboard. We may never get to the bottom of it, but my point is two-fold: 1.) this is a very convenient crash and 2.) think twice before getting on an aircraft with known enemies of the state…

Putin has seemingly graduated from just pushing his victims out of hospital windows. He’s going for a more dramatic effect now. Let’s push them out of planes.

Unless Prigozhin was flying the plane solo, there was “collateral damage” – other people killed as well. Are we worried that Putin will not be able to sleep at night with this on his conscience?
