Chase has been as clear as mud when it comes to whether the Priority Pass Select membership included with the Chase Sapphire Reserve allows only complimentary cardmember access (like Priority Pass Select via American Express) or complimentary access for two guests (like Priority Pass Select via CITI Prestige).
Conflicting Information on Priority Pass Access
I have called Chase several times today to seek clarification and agents have been unable to offer a clear answer. Two agents told me “you and your guests traveling with you” will have access but admitted this was a best guess. Another (honestly) stated he did not know after several minutes of research.
And perhaps Chase is still figuring it out too. We’ve seen printed language that explicitly says guests will have complimentary access–
COMPLIMENTARY AIRPORT LOUNGE ACCESS
Rest and revive before your flight at one of 900+ VIP lounges in over 400 cities worldwide after an easy, one-time enrollment in Priority Pass Select, available to cardmembers including authorized users. Once a member, you and your travel companions can enjoy complimentary lounge access along with amenities, like Wi-Fi, free snacks, beverages, phone, fax, conference rooms and more.

But online we see this language here—
COMPLIMENTARY AIRPORT LOUNGE ACCESS
You and your authorized users can access 900+ VIP airport lounges worldwide with Priority Pass Select and enjoy lounge amenities such as WIFI, free snacks, beverages and more when you activate your membership.
And this more simplistic language in another section online–
COMPLIMENTARY AIRPORT LOUNGE ACCESS
Rest and revive before your flight at one of the 900+ VIP lounges in over 400 cities worldwide after an easy, one-time enrollment in Priority Pass™ Select.
That’s not a good sign if the “companions can enjoy complimentary lounge access” language has been removed or is not anywhere online.
The fine print is no help:
Complimentary Priority Pass™ Select Membership One time activation required. There is no additional cost to activate your membership and certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply. Priority Pass Select membership includes access to airport lounges participating in the Priority Pass Select network. Participating lounges are owned and operated by independent third parties and their participation and/or facilities may change. To access a lounge, member must show his/her valid Priority Pass Select membership card. Priority Pass Select membership is subject to the Priority Pass Select Terms and Conditions. Account must be open and not in default to maintain membership. For complete Priority Pass Select Terms and Conditions and a listing of participating lounges, please visit www.prioritypass.com/select
So what we know is that some printed benefit descriptions of the card state that guest access will be complimentary, but as of yet this appears nowhere online and Chase CSRs have no idea. Thus, I’d say there is a very high chance the card will allow complimentary guest access (because of the printed material) but it is not a guaranteed benefit of the card if you applied online.
The Good News
The good news is that even if we eventually find that Priority Pass does not include complimentary guest access with the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the card is still worth applying for. I explain why here.

I hope that Chase will quickly clarify this policy, but it seems that guests will have complimentary access. Please chime in below once you have received your user guide for the card in the mail, which allegedly contains the verbiage pictured above.
I am not getting this card if complimentary guests are not allowed with priority pass.
I just got approved for the Chase Sapphire Reserve card but I’m leaving for Europe from LAX on Wednesday so I wont have my CC or PP select card in time. Here is what I tried knowing several users have had success with the digital membership card.
I called Priority Pass directly this morning to ask if they could either 1) expedite my PP card or 2) provide my membership ID #. Their response was that since priority pass select customers receive their PP benefits through their respective CC company, you will need to speak directly to Chase, AMEX, Citi etc. No problem.
I called my Chase Sapphire Preferred customer service line and they said Chase does not have access to your priority pass membership #. The only have access to your credit card information.
I’m going in a loop!!! Has anyone had success with obtaining your Priority Pass Select membership #? If so, what did you say?
Thank you!
Michael, I got the same run around wrt the Priority Pass. Totally frustrating… Anyone get their Priority Pass membership #??
I called the Chase benefits line and they gave me my membership number. 1-866-263-4292
However, Priority Pass Select customers do not get the digital PP card benefit…it won’t even show up on the app after you log in. That benefit is only for regular PP members.
Therefore, the only way for PP Select members to access lounges would be w/ a physical card.
I did not receive my membership card yet, but I was told by Chase that if I don’t get it in time for my first use (next week), that I should pay for the club on my CSR and they’ll reimburse.
I was in the Punta Cana Airport and had not yet received my PP card and they could not look it up. I spoke to Chase who said to charge the access (which included my spouse – who is an authorized user) which was $100 and they would remove the charge. This is what I did and upon returning to the states I called and they did promptly refund the charge.
FWIW, I just went through the same dance with Chase. Chase (the # on your card) can activate your Priority Pass membership, then PP mails you a physical card within “1-3 weeks”. After you get your card and know your membership number, membership concerns/questions go through PP.
If you’re like me and don’t want to wait 3 weeks for the card to arrive, he said that they can refund 1 Priority Pass lounge fee per year if you call customer service.
@EC, I just got off the phone with a CSR rep. She said you can charge 2 Priority Pass fees on your card per rolling 12 month period. If you have a spouse/guest, you would need to purchase the day-passes to the lounge together as one transaction. You can do that twice per rolling year. Once you’re back from your trip, just call customer service to reverse the lounge fees.
