The Qantas Lounge in London Heathrow Terminal 3 is an ideal alternative to the nearby British Airways Lounge and my favorite oneworld lounge in LHR T3.
Qantas Lounge London Review (LHR – T3)
Business class passengers on oneworld as well as oneworld frequent flyers (Emerald or Sapphire status) have access to this exceptional lounge, open daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. If you’re flying on British Airways or American Airlines, I recommend this lounge over the AA or BA lounges. You’ll find the lounge through the (often very busy) shopping and dining area past security, with the lounge officially lettered “Lounge B.”
Qantas Lounge London Heathrow Seating
The two-level lounge offers a restaurant-style dining area and bar on the ground floor and plenty of seating, showers, another bar, and buffet upstairs. Seats are comfortable and power ports are plentiful.
Qantas Lounge London Heathrow Showers + Restrooms
Showers are self-serve here. You find an open shower suite, help yourself to a towel, take your shower, then deposit your towel back.
Each shower suite contains a toilet as well as a sink and a spacious shower.
Separate restrooms nearby also offer private rooms rather than shared facilities.
Qantas Lounge LHR Barista + Bar
The highlight of every stay in this lounge is the phenomenal barista-made coffee. Qantas has nice coffee machines both upstairs and downstairs with great quality coffee from Vittoria, an Australian company. I enjoyed a flat white upstairs as I entered and a second one with dinner downstairs..what a pleasure.
The bar is downstairs is open all day.
Qantas Lounge London Heathrow Dining
Qantas offers a la carte dining in its downstairs restaurant area with a self-serve area with salads and fruit and several items that can be ordered off a menu.
Here’s a look a the evening menu:
I sat at the bar and had an heirloom tomato salad with watermelon, chili salt, mint, and basil followed by lasagna… delicious!
A full buffet was offered upstairs with a mix of hot and cold options including multiple salads and warm dishes like roasted vegetables, braised pork, and baked tomatoes.
On a prior visit, I found a nice selection of breakfast options including all the components of an English breakfast, fresh fruit, cereals, bread, and baked potatoes.
Qantas Lounge London Heathrow Other Amenities
Two miscellaneous notes. First, wi-fi is lightning fast in this lounge. Second, newspapers and magazines are available in different areas on both floors of the lounge.

CONCLUSION
I was so impressed with this lounge and have to be honest…I prefer this lounge slightly over the Cathay Pacific First Class Lounge for the coffee alone.
To me, Wi-Fi and coffee are the two most important aspects of any airport lounge and the Qantas lounge excels in both areas.
If you are ever wondering whether you should choose this lounge or the nearby British Airways lounge, choose this one.
Nice to know although I love the Cathay lounge so hard to skip that. It’s always empty before flights to the USA in the morning and has great made to order dumplings and a great view of the tarmac.
I’m always torn these days between the Qantas lounge and the Cathay one. They are different but both excellent. Sadly I rarely have sufficient time to do both.
I have not yet spent time in the refurbished Cathay Pacific lounge, only the old one.
From what I hear from friends, the rule for lounge hopping at T3 is “eat at Cathay, drink at Qantas.’
When we last visited the Qantas lounge we arrived during the brunch service. The brunch menu; Eggs Benedict, Quinoa kedgeree with smoked salmon & poached egg and roasted field mushrooms & herbed bruschetta with semi-dried tomatoes & rocket salad.
The Eggs Benedict were awesome, with perfectly firm white and a runny yolk. Service was friendly, slick and efficient even though the tables in the dining area were all full.
Really nice to see newspapers back. The removal of newspapers and magazines was yet another terrible result of the Covid disaster
