While now is not the ideal time to book travel, I cannot help but to mention an incredible Qatar Airways fare sale going on now.
Fly Qatar Airways Qsuites For Under $1700 R/T From New York Or Philadelphia To Ukraine
Qatar Airways Qsuites is one of best (if not the best) overall business class products in the world. The enclosed Qsuites available on select aircraft, including the A350-1000 that operate between Philadelphia (PHL)/New York (JFK) and Doha (DOH), offer great privacy and comfort. You can read my full review here.
While it is usually easy to find great deals on Qatar Airways, we have not seen many good deals from the USA lately. But Qatar currently has discounted business class between PHL/JFK and Kiev (KBP) via DOH to as little as $1637 r/t.
That’s a great value preposition when you consider the comfort, the miles you’ll earn (26,270 elite qualifying miles and 17,513 redeemable miles for the New York itinerary), and also what a great destination Kiev is.
I’m not booking because of the uncertainty over the virus as it relates to my businesses, but I’d certainly love to re-visit Kiev then explore other parts of the country.
Note that a minimum 7-day stay is required and you must depart on a Monday – Thursday and return on a Sunday – Wednesday. You can travel anytime from June through early 2021 (don’t expect flights to operate in June yet). I’d search for available dates on Matrix ITA then book directly with Qatar Airways or use BookWithMatrix to book.
If you have an American Express Platinum or Centurion card, you can take advantage of a further discount via the International Airline Program, dropping the round-trip cost under $1600.

CONCLUSION
This deal was first posted yesterday morning and I figured I did not need to join the chorus in pointing it out. But almost two days later it is still available. Consider this your final call. If you are someone who loves to fly, you’ll enjoy the backtracking involved. And if you are willing to accept a long layover on your return journey, you can have lie-flat seats for all four segments of the journey.
From a points-earning perspective and from a comfort perspective, this sure beats flying Ukraine International Airlines (yes, I know they have a newer business class now, but it’s still no Qsuites!).

Based on your last post and what were clearly significant click throughs and number of comments you should have titled this post as, “Qatar Hot Deal and Flight Attendants Griping About Working Suites for $1600 Fares!”
Lol
Actually this deal has been going on for over a month now. I’m sure it will last a while. Even GREATER deal for AMEX Business Platinum members who get further 35% back in points, making this deal about about 100k MR.
Matthew, after noting that the destination was Kyiv, I followed a few links and found myself back at your rapturous review of the Hyatt Regency from 2011—and was stopped in my tracks by the following statement: “I am not a coffee drinker.”
Wait, what?!
Who is this writer from 2011, and what has he done with the most impressive coffee snob I’ve encountered in the miles and points game? 🙂
I missed out on the first 20+ years of my life! I’ve only been drinking coffee the last 10 years of my life after my brother and wife helped to introduce me and understand how wonderful it can be! I had always avoided it in the past because my brother worked at Starbucks while he was in school and was so addicted he would quickly get a headache in the morning without his cup of coffee. I did not want to be addicted, but eventually gave in!
