The ANA Lounge (accessible via Priority Pass or partner airlines) in Lisbon, Portugal had plenty to offer for just about everyone.

Location

Inside the beautiful Terminal 1 at Humberto Delgado Lisbon International Airport, is the ANA Lounge elevated above the shopping level below. To get there, an escalator is available or for those who need or prefer an elevator, one is available in front of the escalator entrance. Terminal 1 is the larger of the two terminals and hosts mostly network carriers. Terminal 2 is predominately an LCC terminal.

Checkin was really quick and easy at the reception desk. As with any Priority Pass lounge, travelers should have their boarding pass and lounge access card ready. Though it was crowded, my party of five was through pretty quickly.

It should be noted that while the name of the lounge is “ANA”, it’s not associated with All Nippon Airways, the Star Alliance carrier.

Dining

When entering the lounge, there are two dining areas to the left divided by a bar. Nearest to the door, a limited selection of cold foods are available as well as coolers with soft drinks and beer. On the other side of the bar (only accessible on the opposite side), another dining room awaits with a larger food selection including soup.

Positoned farthest from the bar and adjacent to the windows, is a selection of soups (one bean and one squash) as well as a selection of teas and cereals.

Moving away from the windows and toward the bar, two separate coolers hold beverages, both with non-alcoholic options, one with beer. Wine is available at either ends of the bar for self-pouring in addition to cocktails.

While the food selection was limited to three different types of sandwiches and a prepared salad. The sandwiches were quite good, even though there was relatively little variety (one vegetarian, one Iberco pork, and one tuna salad.)

While the lounge is large, during our trip at midday it was rather crowded. We were able to find enough seats for three adults, one ten-year-old and our one-year-old in a stroller. Large screens show sports and news on large TVs overhead on walls.

Smoking Lounge

Hats off to the ANA Lounge for offering a smoking lounge that doesn’t leak into the rest of the area. As a reformed smoker, I can appreciate both the availability of such an option, while also wanting to enjoy my lounge visit without smelling like I smoked a pack myself.

The glass box room just behind the reception area and off the rest of the seating area was odorless and while the image I captured didn’t have a smoker in there at the time, there was one prior to me taking the photo and you couldn’t tell that they’d ever lit up.

Conclusion

The ANA Lounge was easy to access, quick to check-in, the food was quality but choices were limited, and service was great. If traveling back to Lisbon and given the choice of the TAP Lisbon airport lounge as well, I would try that one too just to evaluate them evenly. But that said, I would gladly return to the ANA lounge and unless the food is substantially better at TAP, I can’t imagine the design and service can be beat.

Not sure about the new non=Schengen lounge at LIS but the ANA lounge and the TAP Schengen lounge are both catered from the same kitchen and the offering is remarkably similar. I would say, TAP has the edge.

Please explain further though, what is ‘beautiful’ about Lisbon Airport? It’s an utter dump and most departures and arrivals are by bus. It needs replacing urgently.

LOL! I thought the ‘beautiful’ comment was somewhat out of place when applied to LIS.

I’ve flown through Terminal 1 twice and will avoid LIS in future, it being way to small. You were INCREDIBLY lucky getting into the non-TAP lounge quickly, as lengthy queues are the norm rather than the exception, based on what I saw on my outbound and return journeys.

Is this the only ANA lounge that doesn’t grant ANA business class passengers access?!?

Article writes not associated with actual ANA airline ; likely initials mean something else in Portuguese . Might be something like : Apes Numbats Armadillos .

I was walking around Copacabana this morning and there was a Bolsonaro rally going on. It was loud, confusing, chaotic, and somewhat resembled the Lisbon airport after the bank of Brazil flights land in the morning.

It’s a bit bizarre that all those Star Alliance members send their passengers to this lounge as opposed to the TAP one next door. Come to think of it, I have only ever flown TAP from LIS so never had to think about that.

I think this lounge is always crowded, food is ok! Best part of the lounge is no line up for the washroom unlike the public washrooms at LIS. Lisbon airport can get crowded so this lounge feels like oasis.

PS I also didn’t think Lisbon airport was a dump, security is fast, food in the food court is good (tastier than any airport in the US)! Speciality items like olive oil and pasteis de nata packaged for transport for home!

I guess the US lounges don’t make “tasty” food, Every single lounge and restaurant has been visited by you so you should know. Busy checking out airport food. Really busy…
