Cathay Pacific has a handful of great lounges in Hong Kong for first class passengers. While these lounges do not rival the world’s greatest airport lounges, they are still high-quality and worth a visit. I visited “The Wing” first class lounge during a transit from London to Bangkok in Hong Kong.
I was connecting from Hong Kong to Bangkok on Sri Lankan Airlines. Although I was traveling in economy class on the Sri Lankan flight, because I arrived in first class on Cathay Pacific, I was granted access to the first class lounge. I asked for a cabana, but (like View from the Wing) was told none were available. Cabanas are special private suites reserved for first class passengers.
The lounge was fairly crowded, but I had no trouble finding a seat. I liked the swanky Champagne bar area with red leather chesterfield couches.

I had three hours in the lounge. I spent the first couple hours catching up on work, then headed over to the dining area for the final hour. Both a buffet and a la carte menu are offered.
I made myself a green salad from the buffet and ordered a coriander-crusted breast of chicken. Coriander , or cilantro as I like to call it, is one of my favorite herbs and the chicken dish was phenomenal:
I checked out the restrooms before departing for my flight:
On a subsequent visit I checked I used the showers upstairs:
CONCLUSION
This is a solid lounge that earns high marks. Save room for a meal and glass of champagne before your next flight.
I often feel like all I’m looking for in life is a good meal and a glass of champagne. Sounds like CX F is a great way to satisfy.
