Review: Malaysia Airlines Regional Golden Lounge KUL

Matthew Klint Posted onApril 3, 2017April 3, 2017 1 Comment

Malaysia Airlines offers an impressive lounge for its regional flights. Though much smaller than its main business class lounge, the regional Golden Lounge in the Satellite Terminal is worth a visit.

My brother and I had enjoyed a large breakfast at the Grand Hyatt just a few hours earlier, but the food is the biggest draw in the lounge.

Food includes:

  • Soups
  • Salads
  • Crudités
  • Bread
  • Curry Dishes
  • Malaysian hot dishes
  • Pasta
  • Rice
  • Sandwiches
  • Fruit
  • Cheese
  • Ice Cream
  • Pastries
  • Cake

A fully-stocked bar is also available.

In other words, enough for a full meal. Not knowing whether our flight to Phemon Phen would have any service onboard (it did), I just had a salad—

The lounge includes seating and work areas, including relaxation pods and nicely upholstered chairs and couches.

Bathrooms and showers are available.

Access is granted for business class flyers on Malaysian Airlines, other oneworld carriers, or those with Emerald or Ruby status in oneworld. Hours of operations are 5AM to 12PaM daily.

CONCLUSION

While there is nothing that makes this lounge particularly unique, I can recommend as a tranquil place to wait for your regional Malaysia Airlines flight and have a meal if you are hungry.

Some comments on WiFi availability and speed, crowd sizes, peak times, etc would also be helpful in the review.
