Review: Royal Air Maroc “The Casablanca Lounge” (CMN)

Matthew Klint Posted onAugust 5, 2017November 14, 2023 Leave a Comment

The Royal Air Maroc Lounge in Casablanca has been remodeled and is now called The Casablanca Lounge. We spent about two hours in the lounge prior to our RAM flight to Doha.

The RAM lounge is modern and clean with plenty of seating (despite crowds). Internet speeds were fast and if you forgot your computer, there was an area with several desktop workstations.

While not a full sleeping room, there was a relaxation area with recliners intended for sleeping if you are tired.

Good luck sleeping, though. The a/c was not working and the lounge was sweltering hot. Trying sleeping in that!

Food options were disappointing. I had already enjoyed a nice breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Casablanca, but would have been very disappointed if I arrived hungry. The lounge features a very large selection of pastries and breads, but none appeared particularly fresh. Ben tried a croissant and found it to be stale. There were eggs as well cooked tomatoes, asparagus, and zucchini, but the vegetables were not replaced. Lunch never appeared even though we stayed until noon. A staffed bar is available with a limited alcohol selection.

Access Requirements

The following passengers have access to the lounge:

  • Royal Air Maroc or parter business class tickets holders
  • Safar Flyer Gold, Ambassador or Silver loyality card holders

Lounge hours are posted in the lounge or online, but it would not surprise me if this was a 24/7 lounge.

CONCLUSION

The poor quality of the food and warm temperate in the lounge were disappointing, but the design of the new(ish) lounge is great, seating comfortable, and internet fast.
