Ryanair Vs. SAS: Dueling “We Will Fly Again” Music Videos

What do you do when you are a flight attendant or pilot and 90% of flights are cancelled? You make a music video of course. Today we have two videos for your viewing pleasure, one from Ryanair and one from SAS. Both are entitled, “We Will Fly Again.”

Ryanair Music Video – Simple, But Well-Done

Although not official, it appears Ryanair’s Bristol crew base got together to create a music video called “We Will Fly Again”. It features dozens of flight attendants and pilots transforming from their civilian clothes into their uniforms using passports as a visual transition. The music is pleasant (no singing) and the wide variety of red passports demonstrates that Ryanair crewmembers come from across Europe. For all I know, this video could have been made years ago, but it is particularly relevant now and was posted a couple months ago on YouTube.

SAS Music Video – Surprisingly Professional

A team of SAS crewmembers created a music video with the same name, We Will Fly Again (Vi Har Våra Vingar). It is in Swedish, but there are English subtitles. Describing the video, SAS said:

“This song and video was made with love for our job in aviation.

“It is dedicated to all SAS employees and to all travelers who value and treasure the feeling of ‘coming home’ when boarding an SAS Aircraft.”

It’s cute.

CONCLUSION

While I prefer the Ryanair video, I think a lot more effort went into the SAS video (and hopefully no COVID-19 spread, since the flight attendants are so close together!). Well-done to both teams who cerated these videos, which bring us all a smile during this difficult time.

Which video did you prefer, the Ryanair or SAS video?

Am I the only one who noticed that half the Ryanair crew hold their passports upside down?

Am I the only one a little tired of sanctimonious Americans making face masks a political issue? Look at Denmark, which is lightyears ahead of the US in controlling corona. Nobody wears a mask.

I was banned on OMAAT for that exact comment, btw. Ben takes preaching very seriously.

Dreadful disco racket from Ryanair; SAS completely ignores social distancing. But I guess life isn’t so easy for them, especially if they’ve been laid off. They show solidarity now, but it’s going to be tough when about 50% of them won’t have a job to go back to…at least for a year or two. It’s very sad .

The Ryanair video has been done by a bunch of airlines. SAS was totally novel! Love the SAS one.

Ryan air sucks. No video will help these thieves, refusing vouchers or refunds through COVID-19 pandemic is shameful.
