Fight Breaks Out on #WalmartoftheSkies (Southwest Airlines)

Another day, another plane flight…this time aboard a Southwest Airlines flight to Los Angeles. But I’m having trouble figuring this one out.

The fistfight broke out on a flight from Dallas Love to Los Angeles, delaying departure and causing several missed connections.

Rather than intervening, one bystander pulled out his phone and broadcast the fight live on Snapchat…

Look around: the whole flight is in disarray.

I have a theory, though.

Southwest provided the following statement to the Daily Mail concerning the flight:

On March 2, Southwest Airlines flight #8 scheduled Dallas Love to Los Angeles was delayed departing due to an altercation between two passengers. The passengers involved were deplaned and local law enforcement took over from there. The safety and comfort of our Employees and passengers is our top priority.

Could this have been a fight over a seat? Southwest still has open seating on all fights. Whatever the reason for the skirmish, the guy in the grey hoodie is clearly not happy.

CONCLUSION

As you can see in the Snapchat video, the bystander labeled the flight #WalmartoftheSkies. While I think that label is more befitting of Spirit Airlines, this fight is certainly reminiscent of a Black Friday sale at Walmart…

Ha! When I read this headline, I was like, “I wouldn’t call SW the Walmart. That would be Spirit!” And you obviously had my same thought.

No? I mean you can record video and sent to to your friends/public but that’s not the same as streaming live.

        Do you have a source?

I like Southwest. But a serious question: What is wrong with people? passengers in the US having a boxing fight while Malaysian and Brazilian passengers are watching porn, stripping naked and/or masturbating.

If Southwest is the WalMart of the skies, what does that make Allegiant? Dollar General? And I guess Spirit would probably be Big Lots.

If Southwest is the Walmart of the skies, Spirit would be the Kmart of the skies.
