A happy couple boarded a Southwest Airlines flight with the man pulling the woman behind him on leash.
A Man, A Woman, And A Leash On Southwest Airlines
Like View From the Wing, I’m not really into BDSM. I’m also not overly concerned about what consenting adults voluntarily engage in. And yes, the couple was properly masked and properly clothed.
The question here is think of the children! Like, what do I say to my five-year-old when he says, “Daddy, why does that woman have a leash around her neck? Why is he pulling her?”
“Well son, when two people love each other…”
Nah, not going to have that conversation quite yet.
I don’t think the leash is in good taste. Some see it as demeaning to women, regardless of consent. Plus, I’m not sure where you draw the line between being desperate for attention and simply living your life.
I won’t lose any sleep over this and would not have complained if I was on the flight. If I were a flight attendant I probably would have let it go too. But I do think Southwest’s ambiguous dress code could have stopped the couple from parading through the aisle like that.
I’m not into public displays of affection…even a quick kiss. And out of consideration for the more sensitive, even if I was into this sort of thing I would not expose others to it.
But that’s clearly not the world we live in.
Well, attention wh*res got your attention. Weirdos 1, LALF 0.
WUFF! WUFF!
Well, BDSM needs consent from everyone involved.
This couple definitely involved a lot of people in their play without their consent…
Definitely not acceptable and no one who’s seriously living BDSM should or would do anything like this.
She’s a real keeper
He was probably happy that the mask was sorta like a ball gag. See, masks work!
“Daddy, why does that woman have a leash around her neck? Why is he pulling her?”
“Because she’s been a bad, bad girl”
Bwahahahahaha!!!
Don’t blame Southwest. Moving millions of passengers a year, those inebriated, or stoned, or wearing vulgar slogans on garments, offensive hygiene, people who are vocal and confrontational, some who are insane, Just last month I had a twenty something guy with cut off blue Jean shorts up to the groin on both legs with no underwear sitting in the gate lounge area exposing his nut sack and penis for all to see. And yes, we did put the kibosh on his travel plans. People show up with Fuck You Biden or Trump t-shirts. Nope…. Ya ain’t flyin’ today. Same thing if you stink, you’re drunk, or loud and obnoxious. We do have ambiguity in some rules at SWA… but if we exploit them too often, it can turn into a power-grab and over-reach. It’s sometimes a hard line to draw as to what is acceptable and what is not.
Somebody please think of the children…. meanwhile we must let boys dress, act like and compete with girls…..LMAOOOOOOO
“Adults like to play pretend sometimes, too”
It’s that easy.
That’s not a bad way to explain it…
It depends on the age of the kid. If the kid is 7 or older, I think that you should talk about inappropriate behavior and the importance of adhering to social etiquette and keeping one’s own perverted tendencies to himself rather than engaging in it for all to see. That person is free to live as he wants under his own roof, and still with limitation…. (e.g, cannot abuse or hit someone under his roof).
I consider that scene to be one that pollutes innocent minds of kids and it is time for people to speak up! Freedom is a beautiful concept, yet setting limits or rather preserving them is necessary in order for society to exist in a balanced manner rather than in anarchy. There should be limitation to liberty; otherwise, what kind of a society would our kids live in?
Maybe stretching the definition of comfort animal.
I’m a retired Captain for American. We had a catch all paragraph in our policy manual that gave the Captain the option to deny boarding to anyone who was exhibiting behavior that the Captain deemed could be offensive to the other passengers on the flight. Only had to use it twice in my career. Both times for passengers with the word “f*ck” prominently displayed on their shirt. In both cases, I spoke to them politely and they just changed shirts. I’m glad I don’t have to deal with this stuff in today’s “woke” society.
What does this have to do with being “woke”? If anything, you using the word that was says quite a bit about you.
I too am a retired Captian and I find your snide comment to Capt. Ragsdale quite insensitive. I think you need training. You’re off my flight! 🙂
Well, we’re glad you’re retired. We don’t have to deal with a guy who kicks people off of a flight for having a word on their shirt. What would you have done with all the let’s go Brandon shirts? We all know what it means. A lot of times, it’s accompanied by an image of a middle finger. You’re probably cool with that, right?
You’re right, Maria. It is just a word. But what about other words? Like the “C” word or the “N” word? Would those be ok in your book? The Captain is the pilot in command of the plane. If he deems it unacceptable, it ain’t flying. If you don’t like that, then take a bus.
How low are we going to go in America?
First we punch and assault Flight Attendants (mostly females.)
Now this prick is pulling a female (obviously dying for attention) behind on a Southwest flight!
I have a wife, daughter and used to have a beautiful caring mother.
I am ashamed and angry about treatment of women in this country.
I do hope the crew confirmed that the woman was safe and fully consenting.
Get over it dude, you sound like a little kid.
Don’t yuck my yum.
Who gives a crap what you’re supposed to tell YOUR kids. That’s YOUR job. They aren’t breaking any laws, just doing something abnormal in your square-like eyes. Then you took a pic and wrote about them.
Shame dude, shame. Grow up bro.
LOL! Some going by the name of Puttblug telling someone to grow up. Either your 14 or the concept of irony evades you dude.
What a disgusting comment and your name tells us what a pig you are. As well, this is disgusting behavior on the part of those two in the photo and not a bondage “lifestyle” that anyone else needs or wants to see. SWA was wrong to let this take place.
My, we now know who the dominant one is in the two of yours relationship… :). Pretty sure Puttblug is happy.
@Stuart – Huh????? …. Who are you referring your comment to ?
About time someone speaks truth! Sheesh thank you
You’re an idiot….
You must be a Christian, with that kind of judgement on display. I used to be in the lifestyle. She’s definitely given her consent for it, and he’s just doing his Dom duties. Score 1 for us infidels. I’d rather be in hell with my kind than your kind of heaven
A lot of assumptions here…
Trust me, your ignorant behind just confirmed your reservation to go back to where you hailed from. Burn!
I don’t like it but how exactly is this different than an obviously transgender person boarding a plane or an obviously gay flight attendant with a rainbow button on their shirt which is something I saw just last week on a flight. In all these scenarios we are being exposed to someone’s sexual preferences whether we like it or not. When someone is overtly gay they’re letting you know what sexually excites them with their rainbow flag….what’s next a BDSM flag?? This is the problem with being too accepting, just do all of this at home and leave the public out if it!
Ryan, you missed a key distinction. Being gay or transgendered are natural and from birth. BDSM role-play is a game. It is a choice, even if a lifestyle.
Secondly, some people being considered for gender change surgery are medically required to live as the new gender for a year before surgery, or were in the past. It required dressing in gender conforming clothes ( more obvious in male to female), wigs, etc.
Not sure about the rainbow button. Were all flight crew wearing them? If yes, it would mean the airlines is LGBTQ friendly.
If only gay flight crew wore it, then I agree with you, inappropriate. They are in uniform and it isn’t part of uniform.
I also don’t think the leash was appropriate for a flight environment for safety reasons. And also, if the situation was reversed and she had a leash on the guy. it could cause some passengers to become agitated and cause a brawl. We already have men, especially men, wanting to fight on planes. This could cause an incident.
Don’t bother me any.
How amusing.
Let’s think about what the couple was intending to do. Obviously they don’t need to act out their BDSM fantasies during every waking hour of the day. They knew they were going to get a reaction. They knew some people would be shocked. So really, they were just being obnoxious. They were being rude.
I don’t care about the leash. What I care about is the fact that Americans are increasingly rude to each other. This has real-world implications.
Agreed!
Cut out all the ‘artsy’ lifestyle and it’s just another farmer leading his cow. At least that’s what it looks like. Why would she want that simile?
I don’t understand why this is such a big deal. Two adults and nothing they are double is openly offensive. Sure it might offend some snowflakes sensibilities but come on, grow some thicker skin or you are going to have a lot more trouble going through life. I would surely do a double take, but in 2021, nearly 2022, nothing really surprises me or shocks me anymore. As for what to tell your kids. Yeah, that’s your problem. You chose to be a parent, so figure it out. You will need to do a lot of explaining, on many topics until your kids are old enough to figure things out on their own.
Yes, I must indeed figure out how to explain a number of issues to my kids, but attention whores should get a room. This isn’t a snowflake issue but a pathetic attention-grab that should be pitied as the desperate move of two selfish people.
There are hypocritical standards here.
“Leashes” with harnesses are still sold to parents to help keep runaway toddlers from bolting off / running away.
To a curious kid who asks “why is she on a leash?” I would answer: ” I don’t know, but I can guess. They are playing a game. They are pretending she was bad.. Tomorrow maybe he will be on the leash. ”
Then I would change the topic to something I know my hypothetical kid loves to talk forever about. Almost every kid has a handful of topics.
If parent doesn’t overreact, kid or teen probably won’t either.
And for the people thinking this might be a California thing, it isn’t. We don’t know where passengers live. Cos Play is mainstream. globally. BDSM groups are global. I saw more in public leash play in Canada than I do in Los Angeles… just not on an airlines. I would be concerned about breathing issues as COVID masks seem a lot thinner; altitude during flight could be a problem (?)
