Losing a child custody battle in a Colombian court to a Colombian ex-wife is bound to be depressing, but becoming inebriated on the Spirit Airlines flight home to Florida and then attacking police officers made a bad matter far worse…
Drunk Man Attacks Colombian Police Officers As He Is Pulled Off Spirit Airlines Flight To South Florida
Our story takes us to Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport (BAQ) in Barranquilla, the capital of Colombia’s Atlántico Department, where Spirit Airlines flight 239 to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) was delayed for three hours on December 17, 2023. A man who appeared visibly intoxicated refused to voluntarily leave the aircraft. Police were called. Rather than realize that it was futile to resist, the man resisted and then attacked the police officers.

How did this happen? The theory, pieced together by passengers accounts, goes like this:
A Polish man was married to a Colombian woman. They had a child together and lived in the USA. For reasons that are unclear (but realistically, after this display, may have been caused by his anger), the two separated. There was a custody battle. The man flew from the US to Colombia to try to win custody of his son. He lost. That made him quite anger. He tried to drink his sorrows away prior to his flight home. But he drank too much and got into an argument with his seatmate. That escalated to a point that the police had to be called in.
Rather than just walk off the plane, the passenger became combative and began punching the police officers and cursing them out. It took several officers to subdue him.
It’s off to la cárcel for you!
His fate is not clear.
Meanwhile, Spirit Airlines has banned him:
We do not tolerate aggressive behavior of any kind, and this passenger is no longer welcome on any of our flights.
We will provide any necessary assistance to the relevant authorities as they investigate this matter.
And we are again reminded that there are better ways to drown out sorrow than booze…

It’s interesting this happened after Spirit and Avianca restarted Barranquilla to Florida service that had been discontinued due to rising costs last year.
Why aren’t I surprised? Poles…
It is ignorant to trash someone because of their nationality. I happen to know a lot of very nice Polish people that I would prefer to associate with rather than the likes of you. That’s all I’m saying.
The star of Steven Spielbergs ‘West Side Story remake, Rachel Zegler, has a Polish( not jewish) father and Colombian mother..hope it wasn’t her parents.
So Joey, you ever been in a Colombian prison?
Watch Stolen Away on Netflix. It show a guy that spends time inside the most dangerous prison in Colombia. I think this guy will regret his actions. Just saying. LOL!
In a stock market fraud trial, the US DOJ requested the Colombians detain a Jewish Colombian-American executive. While awaiting extradition in a Colombian prison, he was repeatedly raped in prison, and it seemed like the Colombians thought “let him get roughed up” would make the case easier for the USG, and so let it happen repeatedly. Upon his being tried and convicted in the US, the judge gave him a much reduced sentence than the government sought because he had been tortured in Colombian custody. One of his co-conspirators in the stock market fraud ended up in federal detention in NYC with a former CIA agent as his locked up roommate. The CIA found out the former agent had a cell phone in the federal detention center and that was an extra cause of concern for CIA management.

Josh Schulte is the former CIA guy named as such in news article and mentioned on Wikipedia as such:

With behavior like this, the court in Colombia would be even more inclined than it already was to deny him custody of any child. Being a drunk hothead doesn’t make for a suitable parent.
I hope you are detained as a bad actor and extradited to California.
