Fresh off the heels of a strike that cost them millions, Spirit needed to get back in the news and get people talking about them again.
They’ve succeeded in their latest ad campaign, which pokes fun at the Gulf oil spill. Take a look:
Nice way to capitalize on the pain of others…
Spirit, naturally, feigns innocence and issued this statement:
“It is unfortunate that some have misunderstood our intention with today’s beach promotion. We are merely addressing the false perception that we have oil on our beaches, and we are encouraging customers to support Florida and our other beach destinations by continuing to travel to these vacation hot spots.”
“Check out the oil on our beaches” = misunderstood intention?
