New Livery for Sun Country Airlines

Matthew Klint Posted onJune 6, 2018November 14, 2023 3 Comments

Voting just concluded for a brand new Sun Country Airlines livery. With the airline on the verge of major change, it is no surprise its paint scheme would also be updated.

Employees were asked to vote on one of four final designs:

several airplanes with different colors

Voting ended last night, so I expect the winner will be announced sometime today or in the coming days. Personally, I prefer #TeamA. None of the liveries are bad looking, but A and B look the most unique. C and D, for whatever reason, make me think of Southwest and EasyJet.

Actually, Sun Country just updated its livery. The “new” current livery, which is only on a handful of aircraft, contains a sleek all-capitals typeface that looks quite timeless to me:

a blue and white airplane on a runway

The new livery will roll out with new aircraft deliveries while the existing fleet will be slowly repainted. Currently, Sun Country has 20 Boeing 737s in its fleet.

Not to be cynical, but I wish Sun Country would invest in keeping one row of first class and its great meals instead of painting its aircraft…

What do you think of the new Sun Country livery? Which one would you vote for?

I’d go with A or B…I really love the fact that they’re actually sticking with colors instead of opting for bland white, which seems to be the trend globally these days.

I prefer the “new” current livery, which is stunning.
