I’ve used the SWISS Business Lounge near the A Gates of Zurich Airport twice recently when traveling on SAS, both times in the morning, and immensely enjoyed this Star Alliance lounge.
SWISS Business Lounge A Review – Zurich (ZRH)
I used this lounge in May and August 2025 with virtually identical positive experiences.
Hours + Access + Location
The lounge is open daily from 5:30 am to 10:00 pm, with access granted to Star Alliance business or first class travelers, Star Alliance Gold members, and Miles & More Frequent Traveller status holders traveling on a Lufthansa Group flight. Star Alliance Gold members have access to the adjacent Senator Lounge when traveling in any class of service and same-day Lufthansa or SWISS First Class travelers can used the nearby SWISS First Lounge A. This lounge is truly intended for business class travelers without Star Gold status.
As an aside, I accessed this lounge while traveling in SAS Plus class (SAS Business as of October 1, 2025). Even though SAS is now a SkyTeam carrier, as a former founding member of Star Alliance, SAS and SWISS have a reciprocal lounge agreement for SAS premium cabin passengers; it does not apply to SAS status holders.
After proceeding through the security checkpoint, walk through the duty-free shopping area, turn right, and you’ll find the lounge down the concourse about 150 meters away. Proceed to the far left of the combined Senator-Business lounge entrance where you’ll scan your boarding pass for access.
Seating
As you enter the three-level lounge, you’ll find seating on the concourse level just past the lounge entrance.
This area tends to be less crowded, though you’ll need to go upstairs for most of the food and beverage options.
The second level is the main part of the lounge, with a large dining area with tables and chairs (designed for two, but easily moved together for larger groups). There is additional seating around, including some couches and chairs, beyond the dining area.
Finally, the upper level serves as a quiet area.
Frequent flyers may remember that this area served as “world’s longest bar” and the former smoking section of the lounge many years ago.

Food + Drink
When it comes to breakfast, I am a very simple person…come to my house at 1:00 pm on virtually any day of the week and you will find me eating an omelet. Here, I was delighted that omelets are made to order every morning…and they are delicious.
Of course, eggs are not for everyone and there are other opinions, including meats, cheese, breakfast pastries and bread, cereal, fruit, and yogurt.
Drinks include coffee, tea, water, juices, soft drinks, beer, wine, and a full self-service bar…. available even in the morning (not that I had anything other than coffee…).
I can’t emphasize enough how wonderful the eggs were…it made me very happy.
Downstairs, there’s a coffee machine and croissants, intended as a “grab and go” because the cups were dispoable.
Smoking
This lounge has a small outdoor smoking terrace that was very well-trafficked.
Restrooms + Showers
Five shower suites are available. Request a shower at the reception desk. Restrooms are also available.
CONCLUSION
As someone who loves omelets, you’ll have to forgive me for raving about this lounge…I just appreciated the breakfast so much. And practically speaking, had the four of us had omelets, fruit, yogurt, coffee, and water in the concourse, it probably would have been more than 100 CHF, so the lounge provided a great value-add to our premium cabin ticket.
I look forward to returning…hopefully SAS and SWISS will keep the partnership going…
that’s a terrible omelette! it raises questions about the validity of your opinions on food going forward.
it should be soft inside and folded, that’s just some egg mix thrown into a pan til it’s cooked solid then shoved onto a plate. a 5 year old could prepare that.
LX C/Gold are considered poor.
try making a mixed drink with those micro glasses
I do make better omelets at home, but these work for me…
