Hot Deal: USA To Europe Business Class – $245 R/T

TAP Air Portugal is offering a very attractive fare business class sale on flights between its U.S. gateways and continental Europe. You can book round-trip business class tickets for as little as $245.

TAP Air Portugal Business Class Sale – From $245 R/T From USA to Europe

TAP flies to the following U.S. cities via its Lisbon hub:

  • Boston (BOS)
  • Chicago (ORD)
  • Miami (MIA)
  • Newark (EWR)
  • New York (JFK)
  • San Francisco (SFO)
  • Washington Dulles (IAD)

Fare sale destinations include:

  • Amsterdam (AMS)
  • Barcelona (BCN)
  • Berlin (BER)
  • Brussels (BRU)
  • Dublin (DUB)
  • Dublin (DUB)
  • Lisbon (LIS)
  • Madrid (MAD)
  • Milan (MXP)
  • Rome (FCO)
  • Vienna (VIE)
  • Zurich (ZRH)

The fare basis is JUSEXI8E and I’m seeing fares anywhere between about $245 and $750 r/t. These tickets carry a $250 cancellation fee and $300 change fee, so lock in only what you expect to take. Under U.S. law, you are entitled to a 24-hour cooling off period after booking during which you can refund your otherwise non-refundable ticket.

Be aware, though, that TAP Air Portugal can be a PAIN to get a refund from. A total pain.

I’ve spent the last hour playing with this and the fare seems to be on its last legs. I’ve tried to book travel to Zurich for the summer and am still seeing the price in Google Flights and on ITA Matrix, but have been unable to confirm the booking yet through any online travel agency or directly with TAP.

Please report below if you have any success. In the meantime, I’ll get back to it. I figured we might as well try together…

The deal is still very much alive, I’ve found it easiest to confirm J-class availability on ExpertFlyer before trying to book. For example, there are plenty of seats on IAD-ZRH from 8/10 – 8/20, bookable on the TAP website for $258.

The prices are for economy, not business

Business still available. I was just able to complete my booking.

Looks good on google flights but not on TAP/OTA when it gets redirected.

    Very cheap economy flight though

I was able to book IAD-LIS-BRU Thanksgiving time for ~$440 all in J. Not $250 but still a good deal.

I paid $509. Still, an acceptable price for r/t business considering we were prepared to pay more for economy class (albeit nonstop).

Still not dead, but the J space is becoming increasingly scarce.

Sounds like that’s the case. Looking at ORD/IADMAD in all August and September and no love. Good find to everyone that was able to jump on it, though! Enjoy!

Looks like TAP cracked down at 08:00GMT when their offices opened up.

Late last night ( March 3rd), I found R/T in J, Miami-BCN in October via LIS for approx. $480 on a 3rd party site, but the prices increased on the payment page.

HOWEVER, I then went directly to the TAP site and booked (still in J, same city pairs and dates) for the same price. I also used my Chase Sapphire Reserve card travel credit to make the deal even sweeter.

Let’s see how this plays out.

I envy all of you that can make plans so far ahead for travel. Best I can do is book flights two weeks from. Why I never can grab these deals and either have to burn points or suck up bloated last minute fares.

I got in late and spent an hour looking for availability starting around midnight EST. I tried multiple cities from ORD and JFK. They showed available on Google Flights and OTA’s until I actually tried to book it. Then the price went from around $500 pp to at least $1,000 pp, which is more than I was willing to spend since there would be positioning flights on both ends. After many failures I gave up. Congrats to the people that got in. I wish I had too but I’ll always have Par- uh the Cathay first class deal.
