The Future of Budget Airline Travel: Load your own bags!

Matthew Klint Posted onApril 11, 2010 Leave a Comment

We’ve heard about Michael O’Leary’s plans for charging to use the lavatory and having "standing" sections in the back of the planes, but the good folks at Ryanair are really thinking outside the box:

Ryanair says it is also looking into the feasability of charging customers for sick bags, if they’re needed and are hoping to introduce “new baggage measures” in the form of passengers loading their own luggage on and off of the plane itself, eliminating the need to pay for professional baggage handlers.

Can we screen our own bags too so the TSA won’t even have to act like they are working?

No word yet if the passengers will also be asked to take turns sitting in the cockpit so the airline doesn’t have to shell out for pilots.

How about charging to use seatbelts, overhead lights, and air vents?
