Things I Love: Travel Accessories

Carly Stewart Posted onSeptember 18, 2015November 14, 2023 4 Comments

I am always looking for ways to make our family travels easier, safer, and generally more organized. I have found a few products that I absolutely love and are my must haves while traveling with baby-in-tow.

Up & Away Multiple Passport Holder

My first travel accessory “must have” is the Up & Away Multiple Passport Holder. I first discovered these beautiful leather holders while browsing Instagram. It was the bright candy colored holders that first caught my attention and I immediately went total heart eyes.

What I love about it: I am the person in charge of carrying all the passports when we travel and that used to mean carrying three passports in three different passport holders. Now, with Up & Away’s multiple passport holder I can hold them all in one place. The elastic band that holds them into the wallet also makes it easy to pull them out quickly for immigration checks and put them away easily before take off.

These gorgeous and well-made passport holders make traveling much easier for us. Each holder also contains a back compartment large enough to fit boarding passes and foreign currencies of all sizes, four card slots for frequent flier, hotel loyalty and credit cards. There is also an extra multi-purpose slot for anything else you carry on your travels – landing cards, baggage claim tags, airport tax invoices, etc. I am able to keep all of my documents together in one place and that has helped me stay orgranized on the go.

Kidz Gear Headphones

My next family travel must have is the Kidz Gear headphones. We had already made a dozen or so trips before discovering these headphones and when it came time to enjoy the In-Flight Entertainment, Lucy would wear my noise canceling Bose headphones. The Bose headphones are amazing for me, but still a little too big for Lucy and unnecessary.

What I love about them: The Kidz Gear headphones come in a range of fun colors with a nice long cord, but what makes them absolutely essential is that they fit her perfectly and adjust easily. These headphones are very affordable and have good sound quality. I thought I was taking a small gamble when I purchased a pair, but they have really impressed me.

I purchased our pair easily from Amazon.com where you can find them in all different colors. Check out this link:  Kidz Gear Wired Headphones For Kids – Pink

Kids Fly Safe CARES Safety Harness

I must admit I am still relatively new to the Kids Fly Safe CARES Safety Harness but after receiving ours in the mail, we couldn’t wait to try it out. We were able to get an extra open seat on a recent Southwest Airlines flight and give it a go. The harness fits in a compact blue bag that takes up very little carry on space. It wraps around the seat (under the tray table behind the seat) and uses the lap belt and a chest clip.

What I love about it: It was very easy to set up, but as we felt a little rushed to do so, we needed to adjust it a couple of times to find just the right height for Lucy. I must admit she squirmed a little and was not as excited to be restrained, but I felt a lot of comfort knowing that this was much safer for her than sitting on my lap.

There are benefits and safety reasons for traveling with an extra seat with your child and we were really excited to be able to do so on many of our trips. Stay tuned for a future post on traveling with an extra seat for your child under two.

What are some of the travel accessories you must have right now?

Up next… Luggage!

I have up & away’s site open right now. I am going to order a case. What a brilliant solution! I usually put ours in a Ziploc bag and because they are dark, I am always digging around trying to find them.

Now to decide between yellow, red and orange…..
