My Top 10 Hotel Stays In 2025

Matthew Klint Posted onDecember 30, 2025December 30, 2025 15 Comments

As 2025 draws to a close, it is time for my annual “Top 10” series. Here, I’ll look back on my 10 favorite hotel stays from 2025.

My Top 10 Hotel Stays In 2025

As a reminder, this is not a top-10 all-time list, but only covers my hotel stays this year. I stayed at far fewer hotels in 2025 than in 2024 (after staying in far fewer hotels in 2024 than I did in 2023). As in years past, I was loyal to Hyatt…I enjoyed another year of superior service, generous upgrades, and great treatment overall as a Globalist and then as a “Guest of Honor” after I lost my status. That’s why my list below is 80% Hyatt properties…

Compiling this list was difficult and truly a reflection of how few hotels I actually stayed in…and I expect this trend will continue again (and potentially even be worse) in 2025.

Do I miss Globalist status? In theory, yes, but not in practice since I’ve spent so little time in hotels this year.

10. Lindner Prague

a building with a brick walkway and benches

This is not a “flashy” or “luxurious” hotel, but at 73€/night (and back earlier in the year when the USD and EUR were near parity), this was the best value of the year.

9. Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur

a pool with a large building in the background

The Hyatt Regency Kuala Lumpur is a very nice new hotel in KL. I was upgraded to a spacious suite and appreciated the excellent Regency Club and large gym.

8. The Fordson

Fordson Hotel Review

This Hyatt Unbound Collection property in Oklahoma City was one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed in, repurposing the site of a former Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant.

7. Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa

a building with a fire pit and a patio

We ushered in 2025 at this unique hotel in New Mexico on the Rio Grande River and loved it very much. In fact, reading over my review as I type this up, it brought back a wave of fond memories. I seriously loved this property.

6. W Taipei

a room with a glass door and a mirror

I chose the W over my usual Grand Hyatt in order to use an expiring Marriott Free Night certificate and was happy to have tried this Marriott property. My room was small, but the gym and wellness area were excellent and the breakfast was also wonderful.

5. Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach

a building with palm trees and a walkway

The Hyatt Huntington Beach remains our preferred weekend getaway. Escaping the heat of LA and spending a night or two here is always a delight.

4. St. Regis Bangkok

a entrance to a building

Bangkok is full of many excellent hotels and this one is no exception. It’s an old school hotel much like the Grand Hyatt Erawan (and located next to it…) and quite comfortable, with a spectacular breakfast.

3. Andaz Prague

a room with a couch and a plant

As much as I loved the Lindner for its excellent price, this was such a beautiful hotel in a great location. Breakfast was excellent, my room was unique, and the service shone through the property.

2. Park Hyatt Jakarta

a tree on a rooftop with a city view in the background

A superb luxurious hotel in the heart of world’s largest city. The room itself was extremely comfortable and the restaurant, bar, pool, gym, spa, and common areas were all so nicely done. Plus, it was very reasonable in price!

1. Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur

a room with a tv and a table

Kuala Lumpur’s newest luxury hotel is stunning, both in terms of its sheer height (I was on the 107th floor) and its excellent service and amenities. KL has so many great hotels, but this will be the hotel I return to next time.

Which hotel stay was best for you in 2025?

Great list with the exception of the Hyatt Huntington Beach. I personally despise that property. It’s a classic California resort factory either filled with conference goers or kids. But, I guess with kids it fits the bill.

Agreed in general, but my kids love it, the location is great, breakfast is superb, and it even has a sauna and steam room!

The fantastic 4* Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach Resort and Spa… One of the rare pearls across the vast Pacific Ocean.

The 4* Waterfront Beach Resort is also a stylish alternative…

The Fordson was a step above other Hyatts. Great to start the day with an in room Nespresso. The suites are gigantic. Rain shower and large tub. Taking months to correct the breakfast charges as a Globalist was a slap in the face. The club next door is loud enough to be heard in Tulsa.

The Grand Hyatt Incheon is my top pick for 2025. The best airport hotel is stayed in, beating my previous number 1 airport hotel, the grand Hyatt SFO. We had an amazing family room with 2 bedrooms. The lounge is the best lounge of any hotel I’ve visited. On top of that, there are restaurants, swimming pools, of course a shuttle bus and great service.

Surprised to see the W Taipei on here. W just seems like such a failed brand these days.

The truth is I didn’t stay in many hotels this year…

Love the Fordson. That and Hotel Kansas City are gems in places I wouldn’t expect

As known well, The Fordson is a charming 4* boutique hotel in downtown Oklahoma City.

I still remember the PH KL review for its ‘salmon’ debate since Ben from OMAAT also went there and went with the other ‘preparation.’
