It has been a tough week filled with one bad news story after another. With so many serious issues to contend with, I hope this posts serves as welcome diversion, even if only for a few minutes.
Whenever I need a laugh, one of my favorite sources (even after watching it hundreds of times) is travel agent Carol Beer, a character on Season 3 of BBC’s Little Britain played by David Walliams.
Her customer service is so bad, her tone so indifferent and apathetic, you simply cannot help but to laugh.
So enjoy the videos below and remember that one of the great gifts of humanity is a deep laugh.
In the prior season, she played a hospital receptionist:
And one other bonus clip. Another BBC miniseries I just loved was called “Come Fly With Me”. It aired from 2010 to 2011 and serves as an air travel mockumentary…it’s well worth your time. My favorite clip in the whole series is the clip below. Penny is a flight attendant for “Great British Air”. In this bit, she talks about the service onboard for her first class passengers. Hilarious.
There are other travel clips I could share…Airplane! comes to mind. But I’ll leave it here.
Feel free to share your favorite travel-related clips below. We could all use a laugh.

Now I finally know who’s behind all of the answers I keep getting from Hilton’s refund department! LOL!
Seems there are a lot of Carol Beers in the airline and hotel industry!
Have you seen Come Fly with Me? Also from the BBC created by David Walliams and Matt Lucas. Similar humour but based completely around aviation. Well worth a look 🙂
Nevermind, I was too quick, only read the first bit and failed to see the last clip… woops
Little Britain and Come Fly with Me are both on Amazon Prime, if anyone wants to check out the whole series. Come Fly with Me is strangely comforting as a frequent flier!
Hilarious. Never heard of this before. Is the rest of the show as funny??
It is! Well-worth watching.
