The Turkish Airlines Lounge in Bangkok (BKK) is a pleasant Star Alliance and Priority Pass Lounge in Bangkok, with one amenity that always justifies a stop.
Turkish Lounge Bangkok Review (BKK)
It had been several years since I had been in this lounge and my last visit was in the middle of the night, so I was glad to visit in the late afternoon.
Hours + Access + Location
The lounge is open 24/7 and available to all Star Alliance Gold travelers, Star Alliance passengers traveling in business class or first class, and Priority Pass members. It is located in International Concourse D. Proceed toward gates D1-D8. Take the escalator down to Level 3, turn right, then walk past gate D8. The lounge is located on the right side.
Seating
The lounge was very quiet at 5:00 pm with only a handful of people and by 6:00 pm it had emptied out completely.
You enter the lounge in the middle of the seating area and can turn left or right or head straight toward the windows for plenty of seating. Past the seating on the right side is food and drinks and the restrooms and showers and on the left. Note that you will have to hunt to find power outlets, which is a major shortcoming of this lounge. Rather than a mix of couches and chairs, there are only chairs.
There are also a few seats beside the reception desk, though I cannot imagine why anyone would sit in them.
Business Center
Near the restrooms is a large business center that includes a conference table with six chairs and a desk (with a desktop computer that was turned off).
Food + Drink
No, the food selection is not quite like any of the flagship Istanbul lounges, but the evening spread included:
- carrot soup
- chicken puff pastry (and a pineapple(?) puff pastry
- salad bar
- “spicy” seafood salad
- finger sandwiches
- beef curry
- sweet and sour chicken
- rice
- apples
- oranges
- cake
- brownies
Drinks included a staffed bar (no Champagne), plus self-serve water, tea, coffee, juice, and soft drinks.
Quiet Room
A quiet room includes six pre-reclined chairs with ottomans. While not quite as nice as a couch or bed, this room should do the trick if you need a nap. And please, don’t be like the guy that was in there conducting a conversation on his mobile phone.
Massage
My favorite part of this lounge is the complimentary 15-minute neck and shoulder massages available between 3:00 pm and 11:00 pm daily. Head to the quiet area to add your name to the waiting list. The lady who gave my massage was an expert and I felt so much better…a shame the 15 minutes flew by so quickly.
Showers + Restrooms
Restrooms and shower suites are available. The shower suites do not have toilets.
COVID-19 Defeater?
I don’t know what this is about, but I give it as much hope as the empty hand sanitizer stations…
Lockers
Near the entrance are eight lockers large enough for even larger carry-on bags.
CONCLUSION
While I wasn’t a fan of the food in this lounge or the lack of power ports, I did love the 15-minute neck and shoulder massage and would return specifically for that. I also appreciated the kind staff, who were gracious and attentive.
In terms of Star Alliance Lounges, I prefer the Singapore Airlines Lounge.

Although the Turkish Airlines in Bangkok is open 24/7, don’t show up in the middle of the night if you are hungry.
I start with that observation because Turkish lounges are known for their excellent food. Even the outstation lounge at Washington Dulles is a place I will always dine at over eating onboard airline food, if given the chance.
Well, perhaps the food is wonderful in this lounge. I just can’t say because at 4:00AM there is nothing. By the time I left, breakfast was being prepared…though it honestly did not look very nice. Perhaps the good food comes out before the Turkish flight to Istanbul. Drinks are available around the clock…
Anyway, there’s far more to this lounge than the food. There are restroom, showers, and plenty of comfortable seats. For Muslim travelers, there is a prayer room and ablution area.
But be aware that power ports are quite limited in this lounge. If you need to charge, you will find a small number of wall outlets. It’s not like in Istanbul where there are plenty of power ports on the floor.
The lounge is accessible to Priority Pass members and open 24/7.
15-minute complimentary massages are available during daytime hours…a shame I missed that.
CONCLUSION
I really cannot recommend this lounge wholeheartedly during off-peak hours since there are better Priority Pass options in Bangkok. Still, it is comfortable and was empty at 4:00 AM. If anything, it’s a decent place to sleep if you get stranded in BKK and don’t feel like leaving the airport. There are couches in the far corner.
I’ll give the lounge another check during daytime hours next time I fly through BKK.

Curious complement to the review OMAAT just churned out for daytime service when food is around. Was the booze available at the hour you visited?

Yeah, it is an interesting counterpoint to the OMAAT review. Which did show us this lounge also has a live cooking station too…
It was just by coincidence we published them so closely together, but I do think the “night” lounge is very different than the “day” lounge.
Definitely not complaining, it’s always nice to see different viewpoints of the same lounge.
