Starting next month, United Airlines will trial a children’s activity kit on select flights and at select hub airports. If nothing else, it’s another step back to normalcy in our pandemic-compromised world.
United Airlines Introduces Children’s Activity Kit
United will “test” an ll-in-one travel kit for children to “help them keep safe and entertained during their flight.” Designed for kids between age 2-10, the kit will include the following:
- Adult-sized mask with mask sizer to adjust the fit to the child’s head
- Visual instructions on how to wear mask and sizer with a friendly message to parents/guardians
- Sanitizing wipe
- Travel journal activity book with crayons
- Eco-friendly, recyclable paper bag
Kits will be available starting on February 10, 2021. These won’t be available systemwide just yet. Instead, the kits will be offered to unaccompanied minors traveling from:
- Denver (DEN)
- Los Angeles (LAX)
- Washington (IAD)
The kit will also be available to all children on flights to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and Orlando (MCO) from all United hubs.
CONCLUSION
Beyond kiddy wings, United has not had anything for children for years. Meanwhile, my son has a beautiful collection of airline kid’s items including a backpack from British Airways, a blanket and stuffed animal from Lufthansa, and numerous coloring and sticker books. Offering a little something like this goes a long way to creating loyalty, even from a very early age. Just ask me and my McDonald’s in-flight Happy Meal toys.
Can I pre-order one for debit?
Chivas will somehow find oppression in this.
OMG 🙂
