If you’re flying on United Airlines to Las Vegas next month, look forward to a gift box on all mainline flights.
Oh, don’t get too excited. It’s just a box that The Venetian and The Palazzo Hotels probably paid United a very handsome sum to distribute. But it’s a something…at least it will make the flight go a bit faster as you examine its contents.
The box will contain coupons for dining, hotel, and entertainment venues. There will also be an “amenity item” in the box. Next month, that will be a microfiber cloth that can be used to clean mobile phone screens or eyeglasses. The “gift” will rotate every quarter, meaning we’ll be seeing these boxes for quite some time.
Coupons include discounts like:
- $25 Daily Resort Credit
- One Complimentary Speciality Cocktail (with purchase)
- 30% Off Musicals
- $25 Slot Credit or Table Match Play
- Two-for-One Signature Cocktails
I remember when United used to partner with the Cosmopolitan and hand out similar boxes. Some may view it as tacky, but I really don’t have a problem with it.
That said, as much as I love the beauty of the common areas of The Venetian and The Palazzo Hotels, I’m wed to MGM Hotels thanks to Hyatt.
The Venetian used to offer a similar package for staying there, and I made $100 from a blackjack table using the $25 match play.
Don’t forget you can use your annual IHG credit card night for these properties.
And your Ambassador benefits.
