Here Are The Domestic Routes United Will Suspend Next Month

United Airlines will suspend several domestic and transborder Canadian routes next month, though the cuts are not as deep as I originally anticipated.

Only one city, Mammoth Lakes, California, will lose service completely. Other cities will see cuts from select hubs, but maintain at least one link on United. Overall, United plans to reduce U.S. and Canada flights by 42% versus April 2019.

Here’s a list of route suspensions sorted by hub. The third “remaining” column indicates which other hubs will continue to service the suspended route. For simplicity purposes, I am only using airport codes. You can look those up here.

CONCLUSION

These routes suspensions are not surprise. In fact, I’m surprised they are not deeper considering how dire load factors and future bookings have been. United has told its employees that it will make adjustments to this schedule according to current events, including potential curfews and domestic flights bans.

If your schedule has been impacted, United will automatically rebook you on an alternate route. If you are not happy with the auto rebooking, you can call United to discuss options. Do note that you likely won’t be eligible for a refund unless you are willing to wait 12 month for it.

It’s not for us. It’s for the country. And fake capitalist Republicans and fake Christians will use those crap lines to steal.

They are capitalists only to deny food stamps to people.

BA stock was 450 a couple of years ago due to all the buybacks and now they are talking about bankruptcy.

Severe cuts! I looked at a few of my routes and saw 4 daily going down to 1, 5 going down to 2, and hub to hub 14 going down to 4-5! Wowsa! April 1 is like cliff. I suppose it’s due to how they bid for lines (although April’s sked would have been finalized a while ago). I wonder if they just went with the highest load flight each day or if they considered banking/connections?

Three of my routes are gone. Going to be spending a lot more time in Centurion-less ORD. 🙁

Ahhh… Now I just read all Centurion lounges are closing by Saturday. Good bye craft cocktails… Hello packaged cheese cubes and bottom shelf UA liquor.

I thought this was a National emergency. The president asked people to not do any unnecessary travel, even in the US. I am a 68 year old person with medical issues. My doctor advised against travel. If I can’t at least rebook or get a refund for my ticket I won’t be able to see my sister till next year. United Airlines is the only airline that is not trying to help their loyal passengers. I feel forced to go. What a horrible position United has put me in.

Here is my take I get that the airlines are in bad shape, however, what happen to all that money they have made on “fee” its was records of money they made. And just maybe one or two need to “fail” We should not be bailing them out via Tax payer money.

Where did it go? The same place almost all revenue goes. You think they fill up those $100,000,000.00 airplanes for free? Domestic airlines run on about a 10% profit margin. So it only takes 2 months of the bottom dropping out of the j dustry to turn record profit into a kiss for the year.

You are 100% correct sir. But most likely the government is going to bail them out anyway. Here’s something that can be done. Put the airlines back into “public utility” status just like they were when the CAB ran things before the advent of the FAA. Now the government will have a big say on where they go and how they charge to do it.

You mentioned a cut to service to Fayetteville NC (FAY) from SFO, despite UA never flying that route. Might you have meant Fayetteville, AR (XNA)?

Are these cuts permanent or is it likely they’ll resume once the virus blows over? I have a hard time believing routes like SFO to BNA, DTW and MCI etc being gone for good. For MCI, that’s our only link.

Frankly I don’t care about the disease. The economic fallout from these overreactive, knee jerk measures will dwarf anything the virus could match.

Despise and hate airlines? Then drive yourself to your destination. See how much time and money you will spend. Take your boat also for a long trip to Europe or Asia.
