When Chaos Breaks Out Onboard

One of the reasons I avoid low-cost-carriers in Europe is because of incidents like the one captured on the video below:

Flights within Europe on carriers like Ryanair can be very inexpensive if you buy early or buy at the right time and that attracts the clientele seen in the above video (among others).

What would you do in a similar circumstance? There is a thin line in which revelers having a good time cross a line that puts the safety of other passengers and the flight crew in jeopardy. Ryanair has been forced to make several diversions this year due to out-of-control passengers – with alcohol being the common link – and just how would you defend yourself and your loved ones if you suddenly had a swarm of drunks running wild through the cabin?

For all the senseless fear-mongering and security theatre employed by the TSA, the only thing I fear when I fly is passengers like this…

German television had a consumer program which showed two familes going to the same vacation location, one via Ryan Air and one booked with a travel agent using non-budget carrier. The difference was about 20 Euros higher for the non-budget ticket. That’s worth paying to avoid the hassle, worrying about the baggage and all the other gimmicks Ryan, Easy Jet, et al do to make the experience as uncomfortable and worrying as possible; wouldn’t fly any of the cattle operators for one farthing. Never mind the onboard company.
