The storm system that battered the Midwest has finally reached Washington Dulles, precisely at the time my flight to Frankfurt was scheduled to board this evening. Visibility is extremely poor and the rain is coming down so hard I can hear it with noise-cancelling headsets on inside United’s International First Class Lounge. All flights on the tarmac have returned to the gate and the airport is at a standstill.
Let’s see how long it takes this storm to pass and how late I get into FRA tomorrow. Any bets?
