83,871 American Airlines AAdvantage Miles for $4.96?

Matthew Klint Posted onAugust 10, 2011December 6, 2016 4 Comments

While it appears this is a fleeting promotional error, AAdvantage Shopping is offering 83,871 miles for a $4.96 Palm® wireless phone charger through Verizon.

Simply follow this link, click on “Buy Now”, login to your account or register for AAdvantage e-shopping if you have not already done so, enter your zip code, check device compatability (just choose the Palm® Pre™ 2 from the list), click “Add to Cart”, choose 2-day free ground shipping, click “Continue to Checkout”, fill out your billing information, fill in your credit card details, click “Continue”, then click “Confirm Order.”

That’s all. There is no note on the confirmation page that you will receive nearly 84K miles, but I have captured the screenshot below. Let’s see how American Airlines and Verizon handle this one…

    Clicking on “Product Details” says that it is 13 miles.

    @David: I didn’t click on that link, I clicked on the 84K link! 😉

    In all seriousness, I never expected to get 84K miles, but for the small expenditure it is worth a shot and refund if necessary.

    Better than Gary’s find! I’m not going to bother in anticipation of the all but certain outcome, but will look forward to your experience & trust you will post the results.

    Hi Matt,

    I signed up for the AA shopping account last night and made the purchase. The offer is now gone, but I figure it is a $5 spend for 84K possible AA miles. I also took a screenshot as well.

    Please keep us updated as to your progress on getting the AA miles. I hope we can get them to honor the offer.
