Agitated Passenger Threatens To Slaughter Flight Attendants And Blow Up Plane…But Why?

Two months have passed and I still cannot figure out what exactly what happened onboard an Aegean Airlines flight from Pairs to Athens in which a passenger clearly became enraged and allegedly made threats including “destroying” flight attendants and blowing up the plane.

Agitated Passenger On Aegean Threatens Cabin Crew And Entire Aircraft

In early July, it was widely reported that a “Muslim” man “holding the Quran” proceeded to warn that he would “slaughter flight attendants” onboard his Aegean Airways Airbus A321. He also threatened to “blow up the plane” shortly after it took off from Paris. Earlier, other passengers witnessed him singing during boarding. then he began spitting at passengers. Then he started screaming.

Flight attendants tried to calm him down, but it was at that point he threatened to slaughter them if they touched him.

The plane continued onto Athens where the man was arrested upon landing. Passengers stood sentry to ensure he did not stand up for the remainder of the flight.

Now we are in September and it still is not clear to me who this man is, what he has been charged with, and what exactly he did onboard.

A video shows him yelling in French, but he is not holding a Quran.

I find it potentially odd that he was “singing” onboard if a devout Muslim, since many more devout Muslims view singing as haram (forbidden).

So frankly I’m not sure what to think. Could it be he was just drunk? What would prompt this?

Finally, please save your “religion of peace” jokes for other places. Just like we should not throw out Christianity because some deeply disturbed people murder in the name of Christ, here too we cannot generalize this man with every Muslim out there.

We don’t have to shy from what may be a religious aspect to his outrage: some have speculated he became angry when no halal food was available onboard or because Aegean flight attendants wear uniforms that expose their shoulders. If either is true, his religion does become germane to the discussion if that worldview informed his outrage.

But I’m more curious about what exactly he said in French in the video above and if anyone knows what brought this about.

CONCLUSION

A man purportedly threatened flight attendants and other passengers aboard an Aegean Airlines flight to Athens. However, it remains unclear what set this man off…and he appears so angry I’d really like to know why.

Any theories?

My opinion is 100% in favor of Israeli-type security checks , searches , and background checks to avoid boarding anyone of a suspicious nature . Aircraft are not public buses for anyone . If that cuts into airline profits , too bad . If that means arrival 3 hours early , fine .

Even as with French as my mother tongue it’s not not easy to understand the first sentence but after listening closely the is is what I understood: “I am a vegetarian!! If you’re here I get off the plane right now and cut your throat! I don’t give a F*#%! Hey GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE, GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE!”

There might be more to the story but as a pure translation aspect, this is what was said.

The temptation to pin him down and duct tape him is strong. Dont need another 9/11.

Music isn’t haram. Glorifying irreligious behavior, musically or otherwise, is haram. Psalms is considered holy text to Muslims and there are numerous verses in Psalms that glorify song.

That’s what you Europe gets when they keep accepting migrants like these guys and makes it impossible for actual paying honest professionals to immigrate to your country instead. They deserve what they wanted. Kudos to Poland, it knows how to dodge a bullet.

I read the comments on the IG account where several French speaking people posted wgat it was about. Apparently, the man is a vegetarian and he was upset that he’d been served meat.
