While much of the U.S. braces for winter, Alaska Airlines and Hawaiian Airlines are reminding travelers that summer is just getting started…south of the equator. The carriers have launched their latest Global Getaways promotion through the Atmos Rewards program, offering members up to 50% off award redemptions to sunny Southern Hemisphere destinations across the Pacific.
Alaska And Hawaiian Airlines Offer Up To 50% Off Global Getaways
Alaska’s newest Global Getaways theme, “Summer Isn’t Over,” spotlights warm-weather destinations available for discounted award travel booked between November 4–11, 2025 for travel through March 30, 2026.
This round of offers centers on Pacific Rim destinations—places basking in summer while the Northern Hemisphere cools off, including:
- Sydney, Australia (from 35,000 points in economy class one-way; 25,000 from Honolulu)
- Auckland, New Zealand (from 35,000 points; 25,000 from Honolulu)
- The Cook Islands (from 35,000 points)
- Manila, Philippines (from 25,000 points)
- Bangkok, Thailand (from 30,000 points)
- Hong Kong (from 30,000 points)
Half-Off Redemptions, Full-On Summer
Atmos Rewards members can redeem points for these destinations on Alaska, Hawaiian, and select global partners at up to 50% off standard redemption rates. The program’s latest offer highlights some of the most scenic destinations in the Pacific, where November through March happens to be peak summer season.
In announcing the promotion, Alaska Airlines noted the program’s goal of extending summer wanderlust: “Summer isn’t over—it’s just moved south. These Global Getaways are designed for members who want to trade snow boots for sandals while earning and redeeming Atmos Rewards.”
I wish I had time to visit the Cook Islands…it’s one of many destinations on my bucket list. Heck, I’d love to spend six months living in Australia, but that’s not the season I am currently in.
How To Book
Bookings can be made at alaskaair.com through the Atmos Rewards portal. Main cabin award travel must be reserved between November 4–11, 2025, for flights through March 30, 2026.
Atmos Rewards was recently named the number one airline loyalty program by U.S. News & World Report for 2025–26 and I can see why: attractive redemption pricing and free stopovers even on one-way awards are quite appealing.
As always, compare mileage rates with cash fares. Just becuase a mileage seat is discounted does not make it a good redemption. If you’re not getting at least two cents per Avios, I’m not redeeming miles…
CONCLUSION
The latest Global Getaways sale is a creative reminder that “summer” depends on your hemisphere. With prices starting at just 25,000 miles one-way, this may be an appealing way to cash in Atmos Rewards points for a winter escape to the Pacific…it’s worth a look.

Would like to see more Business Class award availability with partners. It seems like we have to wait until basically the last minute to find open seats.
Coach seats only – what a bargain. No thanks, I’m not suffering for 16 hours.
How would we book these if we want to have a stop in gold coast also
Only one stopover in each direction.
