Meghan Markle Defends American Airlines Flight Attendant After Captain’s Insult

American Airlines Meghan Markle

An American Airlines flight attendant shares of a pleasant onboard exchange with Meghan Markle, the wife of Prince Harry, during which the Duchess of Sussex defended her not long after the captain had reportedly made derisive remarks about her appearance.

American Airlines Flight Attendant Shares About Her Onboard Interaction With Meghan Markle

Markle, who lives outside of Santa Barbara, CA, was flying from New York (JFK) to Los Angeles (LAX). Flight attendants wrote her a note saying, “It’s a pleasure serving you! Love you real bad!  -AA Girlies.”

Markle wrote them a handwritten note back:

“Dear AA Girlies, thank you for the love, hospitality, and handwritten note—you know me well. All love right back to you. As ever, Meghan.”

Sharing the note and describing Markle’s behavior onboard, flight attendant Nina Vida posted a video on TikTok praising the Duchess of Sussex as sweet and beautiful. Furthermore, she praised Markle’s handwriting, noting it was “giving rich, giving expensive, giving princess” vibes.

(View From The Wing notes that before turning to acting, Meghan Markle was a professional calligraphy instructor.)

Vida also noted that Markle praised her nails, which was particularly poignant after the captain had purportedly criticized her nails as “intense.”

“Sir, it doesn’t matter what you think. The queen says she likes them.”

Hmm…don’t tell Camilla.

I don’t mind the nails and would go so far as to say they look nice, though I’m not sure they are very practical for a flight attendant. My wife, being a nurse, does not use any nail polish and keeps her nails cut short…that’s a good look too.

In any case, while we don’t know in what context the captain derided her nails, unless she asked for feedback on them, I don’t see how it is appropriate to comment on them unless saying they look nice. I mean, it’s not like it was LaRhonda…

It isn’t clear what class of service Markle was flying in, but you can bet it was not economy class. Her husband is known to fly AA First Class and the late Prince Phillip, Harry’s grandfather, once said, “If you travel as much as we do, you appreciate the improvements in aircraft design of less noise and more comfort, provided you don’t travel in something called economy class, which sounds ghastly.”

Why does this even matter? I don’t know, you tell me…the world seems fixated on Harry and Meghan…I’m just giving you the aviation angle.

The flight attendant should be fired for doing social media in her uniform. If she wants to be a content creator then quit flying and quit using American Airlines.
On a side note, the Sussexes seem to be into AA points because they fly AA over BA and Virgin on the rare time they go to London.

Poor Meghan. It was a thoughtful gesture to thank her FAs. However I purchased her As Ever raspberry jam ( $ 14. ) and will spare everyone from doing the same. Stick with bonne mamam and save ten bucks. But I give her credit for trying. I found the flight attendant’s nails a bit too pointy myself.

I agree–poor Meghan. She thought she was going to be the next Dianna, becoming even more popular that than royal family themselves. The sooner she totally disappears from public view the better for all involved, including her.

It’s pretty easy to live without noticing her, you just have to stop getting enraged everytime something you don’t like is mentioned

Correct, but it is shallow clickbait, which usually is uncharacteristic of you

So do I. As a former F/A, I was always so pleased to discover celebrities I admired were so gracious in person. (Only 1 actress in 46 years ever proved otherwise) And who doesn’t like compliments! F/As aren’t robots.

Poor Meghan. She was so hoping to make the NYT and CNN, but only ended up on LALF, lol. The Duke and Duchess of Montecito – what a pair.

Of course the Duchess of Montecito was on her best behaviour during the flight, because the crew were doting over her, and pouring huge amounts of narcissistic supply into the voracious black hole that is her pathological desire to be the focus of everyone’s attention. Personally I’m surprised that she’s even taking a commercial domestic flight. Perhaps their money situation is tighter than they let on.

Meghan must be disappointed she hasn’t already been awarded the Nobel Peace prize for her actions. There is always an alternative goal with her actions

The dumb prince and his Instagram loving bitch wife have a history of using AA crew for publicity. Just like the time the dumb prince made a FA hold up his nasty book and took a picture with him for free publicity. AA is now part of the Sussex PR machine….

It would be great if you could post “Meghan Markle did something” stories closer to bedtime.

    She’s better than Ambien.
