After arriving in Atlanta, I had six hours before my connection to Seoul. I decided to challenge myself by visiting all nine Delta Sky Club airport lounges. A couple of clear favorites emerged.
Which Delta Air Lines Sky Club In Atlanta (ATL) Is Best?
My flight arrived near the A17 lounge, which was not quite open yet…by 5:30 am, a huge line had formed outside.
A17 Sky Club
The A17 Sky Club was crowded and around the dining area and bar, though there was plenty of room in the upper half of the lounge. I had a cup of coffee here to start my day. This is not an updated lounge.
Concourse A Sky Club
Nearby in the A Concourse, there’s a refurbished Sky Club right near the concourse entrance. It’s not well-marked…you have to proceed up an escalator to find the lounge.
T6 Sky Club
Terminal T is the first terminal you enter after clearing security on the domestic side of the airport. This lounge is the only Sky Club that opens at 4:30 am and it was packed.
B18 Sky Club (+ Grab And Go)
B18 has a nifty grab and go feature (much like United’s Club Fly lounge in Denver, though without barista-made coffee) though you can either take the grab and go food or visit the lounge, but not both. The lounge was extremely crowded and there was a five-minute wait even to access the lounge. Interestingly, I took the first picture below and literally seconds later there was about 30 people in line waiting to get in…
C37 Sky Club
Next up, I visited the C37 Sky Club, which was quite small and crowded.
D28 Sky Club
Delta will soon open its largest Sky Club in ATL in Concourse D that will replace both the D12 and D28 SkyClub. The “underground” D12 SkyClub was like a dungeon without any windows and very crowded, including a long line to use the restrooms.
D12 Sky Club
This was the smallest Sky Club in the airport, a tiny space that is centered around a buffet and bar.
Again, this lounge is slated for closure after the new D16 Sky Club opens this summer.
E15 Sky Club
My favorite Sky Club…E15. It was crowded too, but there was more food (like fresh blueberries and blackberries as well as a French Toast station) and shower suites…which I availed myself to.
Concourse F Sky Club
I finally made it to the F Concourse, where my flight would depart from. The Sky Club is on the mezzanine level and was crowded, but had a very nice terrace and also had shower suites.
Lunch was brought out during my visit and I was impressed by the selection, with items like St. Louis spare ribs that looked quite appetizing.
CONCLUSION
I’ll review each lounge individually, as I did in Detroit, but now you have a high level overview of your choices in ATL. I suspect the new D16 lounge will become the best, but for now I prefer the E and F Sky Clubs. All the lounges were crowded…Atlanta is the busiest airport in the world and Delta is a giant there. But I enjoyed visiting them all.

D16, very much the old United Club nee Presidents Club
Same paneling from when it was the CO President’s Club, how I miss Continental Airlines.
The Continental Airlines President’s Club agents in ATL were tops and worked a miracle for me more than once, including moving me from a severely delayed ATL-IAH, (connecting to IAH-AMS flight) to a DL BizElite (how many folks remember that name?) ATL-AMS non-stop.
The headers for D12 and D27 should be swapped to match the photos under them 🙂
Going to all the Sky Clubs seems like a great way to get your steps in before the long haul flight. Would have been something I made my wife do before we had kids in tow. Last time we flew Virgin ATL-MAN we visited the F gates Sky Club. As you mention, it was very crowded, but the food and drink offered was pretty decent.
They could double capacity at these SkyClubs and still not have enough space
I’m sensing a common thread in the crowding. Delta has already made some pretty draconian cuts to sky club access so there’s a limit to what they can further cut without hurting themselves a lot. Since they pretty much own ATL, why not put in some more lounges? If that’s what it takes to keep selling co-branded Amex cards then so be it.
The Platinum and Reserve AMEX limits just kicked in this month, so we should see some thinning of the crowds towards the end of the year. But I would say Delta would be right where they want to be – lounges approaching capacity (i.e. crowded) without excessive lines. They want these lounges full.
We were in D on saturday when our flight got cancelled. by Delta and we were not rebooked. One of the A lounges has homeade biscuits and for those southern white gravy too… On Sunday we were in a United lounge in Denver B terminal-It was large with lots of windows and had the best breakfast burritos…

I’ve been to the F-Concourse Delta Club. Not overly impressed, but it was nice to be able to use it. The Delta Club in Salt Lake City is still my favorite.
ATL has ironically the worst SkyClubs (followed by DTW) among big DL airports. I hear good things about the new lounges in MSP and SLC but I haven’t been. Fortress hubs/lack of competition issues. The difference between ATL/DTW versus LAX/BOS lounges (not Delta One) are night and day

Thanks for consoling me in my ‘unwashable’ “untouchable’ airline status…. I can see I’m not missing much ( more waiting, crowds, lines, tripping over luggage in the aisles )…. I’ll just rot in the gate area while the elites fight it out in their exclusive clubs !
Hard to tell the difference between the clubs and the terminal. ATL club situation is dismal for Delta.

Wow! This is very helpful. ATL has been my home airport for 25 years and I still haven’t visited all the Sky Clubs. 🙂
I tend to prefer the upstairs portion of the main A lounge, but none really stand out to me. I also think they all smell like walking in to a baseball stadium. I feel like there is a pleasant scent when you enter United Clubs, Admiral’s Clubs are neutral smelling.
I seem to recall from a year ago or so that some of the Skyclubs had special First Class lanes for those with SkyClub memberships or the Amex Plat who were also traveling in F. Made a big difference.
E Terminal has a different caterer than the rest
My favorite sky club is at laguardia. I try to book all my layovers there. Even met some celebrities when I go. The lounge is huge and although crowded, I have never had issues finding a quiet spot. The selection is pretty great as well.
