Dealing with the Taxi Touts at Panama City Airport
Upon arrival at Panama City Airport, we were bombarded by aggressive taxi touts trying to get us to use their services. They were pushy, rude, and even tried to rip us off with exorbitant prices. It was a stressful and unpleasant way to start our trip in Latin America.
We quickly learned to navigate through the chaos and avoid the touts by ignoring their calls and heading straight to the official taxi stand. It was a relief to finally be in a safe and legitimate taxi on our way to our accommodations, away from the aggressive touts at the airport.
Learning to Avoid Scams in Latin America
Experiencing the taxi touts at Panama City Airport was a wake-up call for us to be more vigilant and cautious during our travels in Latin America. It taught us the importance of doing research, being aware of common scams, and knowing how to protect ourselves from being taken advantage of by opportunistic individuals.
We vowed to always trust our instincts, stay alert, and not let our guard down when it comes to dealing with unfamiliar situations, especially when it involves transportation in a foreign country. It was a valuable lesson that we took with us throughout the rest of our adventures in Latin America.
