A teenage girl flying on Delta Air Lines asked her seatmate to move in order to accommodate her large “emotional support” pitbull and became indignant (and vaped onboard) when her seatmate refused.
Pitbull On Delta Air Lines Flight Annoys Seatmate
Imagine you board a widebody flight and when arriving at your aisle seat in the center section, you find a woman with a massive dog occupying not only her center seat, but your seat too.
That’s what happened to Juanie on a Delta flight, in which she found a teenage girl seated next to her with a large pitbull. The girl asked her to find another seat because pooch needed more room. When Juanie declined, the women became aggressive.
Even so, the flight took off and the three passengers and one large dog were forced to share the space.
So…I’m next to a yt girl who just asked if I would give up my seat for her pitbull. When I got to my seat she had the pitbull in my seat. And now she’s acting like I’m unreasonable. All for emotional support animals. In your fricken seat.

YT is a derogatory “TikTok” term for a white person. Why-Tee…get it? Poor form, Juanie. She also accused the girl of using “blaccent” (sounding like a black person) as if all black people sound alike. Juanie strikes me as disgusting too, but that’s another issue…
Comically, the dog owner stood up and walked across her seat and Juanie’s seat to get out because her dog needed all the room on the floor.
An update – the woman now stands up in her seat and in the aisle seat to get in and out of her row so her dog can walk on the ground since they both can’t walk out of the row normally. This is crap. @Delta

Apparently, the dog did not provide enough emotional support, because at one point the woman began to vape too.
And to top it all off, she hit her banned vape on the plane. 🙂 @Delta
Where’s my refund…where are my credits? I need them now! pic.twitter.com/JilU5MKVjh

During the flight the dog shed a lot of hair over Juanie, what was okay…
I will continue to reiterate that the dog has been fine and non problematic. It isn’t the dog’s fault. Genuinely upset that this was allowed by @delta because as far as I’m concerned it theirs fault. Me and the woman on the aisle now have dog hair on us. It’s just too much. pic.twitter.com/YA8P22qrOD

…until her purse was damaged.
The dog has now blemished my purse and stepped on the aisle seat woman’s purse as well. She’s asking the dog if he wants his ass whipped. pic.twitter.com/OerUpr67mT

View From The Wing points out that Delta once banned pitbulls but no longer does per US Department of Transportation mandate. This is alarming considering how badly damaged a pitbull damaged a Delta passenger on an earlier flight.
I hate pitbulls. My neighbor subleased her house to a family that has a pitbull and twice it has escaped their yard and come next door. I warned the family that if the dog gets loose again and I feel my family (I have a three-year-old daughter and six-year-old son) are in danger, I reserve the right to destroy their dog. These vicious dogs have no business being on an airplane.
CONCLUSION
I do feel bad for Juanie here. She should never have been subjected to this and Delta should have made this woman purchase an extra seat for her dog. While I think pitbulls should be banned from aircraft altogether, at least requiring passengers to purchase an extra seat for all large dogs would help reduce the problem of what occurred onboard.
But we’re going to have to revisit the “psychiatric service animals” issue again…it is getting out of control.

How is a pit bull allowed on a plane under any circumstances? Is delta going to pay up when that thing locks on to a baby and mauls it to death? I thought airlines were trying to address the ESA fraud
100% agreed!
My understanding is that by law a service animal cannot be restricted based on size or breed.
For the most part, the difference between a service animal and an emotional support animal comes down to what the owner says about the dog. There is no level of documentation or proof required.
You are correct and it is time to change that. It truly is out of control.
That’s not correct. While there is no restriction to breed, the dog has to fit under the seat or in the passenger’s lap. Travel can be denied if the service animal does not meet those requirements. So you cannot travel with a Great Dane.
That’s not true, and would be a huge issue for folks with sight dogs, which are usually fairly large labs or sometimes standard poodles if allergic
In before the Pitbull people find this comment section & nuke it. Our city had to put one down due to its aggressive behavior a few years ago & they swarmed the city FB page & google reviews from all over the county denouncing us as monsters.
Glad to hear your city took the appropriate action against a menace.
Teenagers from today are part of a lost generation. No surprise here.
Teenagers from today were taught by your generation. Just sayin
No, teenagers from today were indoctrinated by teachers that have always been dependent on the Government to survive. They are suckers and never contributed anything. But there is light at the end of the tunnel. Not all teenagers were indoctrinated so those that have a brain will conquer the world. The fact that most of them are lost will make it much easier for the smart ones to stand out. Not all teens use social media to whine about everything that goes wrong on their lives and find someone to blame. Some take responsibility for their actions. These will succeed.
Dependent on the government? You mean public school? Those have been around a lot longer than this generation. Seems like parents should have more influence than teachers, so that’s still on the parents. Have teachers changed so much that they are now different than before?
Are you telling me that there are a few teenagers that are going to act more like Gen x and boomers? God help us all
Best comment EVER
Need to pay FULL FARE for a dog’s seat
That would stop most travel with dogs
Not sure why the person who took the photo feels the first thing she should mention is the race of the individual
Because she sounds like a bigot (which is different than a racist, but still bad).
No need to split hairs, the person is definitely a racist.
TIL what “yt” means. Naively, I’d read the Twitter snippet as “youtube girl”, i.e. a spoilt brat teenager.
Irresponsible dog owner, in the worst way. Poor dog and passengers!
Pit bulls are a dangerous breed because of their genes. No matter how much love and obedience training is given by the owner, the Pit bull is most likely to revert to its genetic code and be aggressive. They are the dogs most likely to maul its owners and others. It makes no sense why the pit bull continues to be breed and adopted. It reflects a sickness in the mind of the owners. I classify pit bull owners and supporters as worth less than animals. Crime statistics don’t lie.
It’s always Americans who seem to have emotional support animals. Pit bulls are dangerous, let alone the moronic passenger accompanying it
It should absolutely be prohibited for dogs to be permitted in a cabin unless they are in a container , with the exception of guide dogs.
I don’t want to be seated next to someone with an unrestrained dog impeding on my space
My belief is that the only way to end this madness is to make the handler of the animal legally responsible for the actions of the animal in the same way that a human would be held responsible for similar actions.
Unwanted physical contact by someone else’s animal constitutes assault, and the handler is the one who faces the criminal charges and/or civil consequences.
As it stands now, there are no meaningful requirements to qualify an animal as a service animal, and designating an animal as a service animal supersedes the rights of anyone else in the vicinity.
Indeed Mr. Marcus. I believe in most areas owners are accountable for damages and actions off their dogs. My home owners insurance will not even cover a dog without expensive extra fees and not all breeds. Sadly the irresponsible just ignore the rules.
But certainly an airline should ask for proof of insurance, and I am curious why an uncrated pet is not required to wear a humane muzzle
Not accountable to the extent I’d like to see.
If you don’t have much money and your dog injures someone, you generally face no consequences– usually no criminal charges, and the injured cannot get compensation from someone with no money. Can’t garnish wages in some states, and even those that will garnish generally don’t under a certain level of income. A large percentage of the US population thus can own a dog that injures someone and face no meaningful consequences.
Additionally if your dog continually rubs or touches someone on an airplane, or licks someone’s crotch or hand, or any other form of unwanted physical contact that does not result in an obvious injury, there is no recourse. If a human being did these things, the human would face consequences. When a human allows their dog to do it, it’s fine.
In Australia the dog owner is legally responsible for injuries if their dog attacks, this greatly reduced the amount of attacks and reduced pet ownership of breeds such as pit bulls. These types of legal reform I do support.
Matt, I appreciate your honestly why you are mistrustful of dogs, however a well trained dog is a wonderful pet and companion, however it does take a lot of training!
I love traveling with my dog also a bully breed with a lock jaw and I am always frustrated with these types of stories, they give us good pet owners a bad name.
This is the case in the most jurisdictions in the United States as well. It doesn’t help if you are judgment proof, which I would guess a disproportionate amount of pit bull owners are.
As someone who was once firmly on the same side as Matthew about pit bulls, which is actually a pretty poorly defined term and encompasses so many breeds, there can be some bad misinformation on both sides of the issue. There is no question that the breeding of certain molossers that people identify as “pit bulls” leads their genetics to be problematic, but molosser dogs generally have extraordinarily strong bite force and can cause serious injury if provoked. The cute English Bulldog or statuesque Great Dane, both dogs that are beloved and not considered dangerous at all, have a bite force that can easily surpass a “pit bull.”
The reality is that pit bulls do not attack significantly more than other dogs in most settings, but they are more likely to cause severe injury when they do. Also, pit bulls tend to be kept in situations that are more conducive to violent events. Ones that are kept as normal, well adjusted, family pets and are not from breeding lines that were tailored to violence, don’t tend to have any more incidence of violent events than any other dog.
Google the Bennard family of memphis. Hint: they didn’t have a golden retriever
Why don’t you bring some pitbulls to your bed and have these angels sleep with you?
I have three dogs who are partially or 100% American Staffordshire Terriers (one of the many breeds considered by the lay person –or too lazy to educate themselves person on the term pit bull since it is not a breed recognized by the American Kennel Club) and I sleep and wake up just fine, thanks. As a physician I have seen more bites from small breeds and the locking jaw myth is that-a myth. These dogs, like any other dogs, are loyal and respond to training-some have bad genetics, true- but that could be said for some people as well.
One of the most awkward flights I experienced was from LAX-AUS when an entitled young lady and her emotional support chorkie sat next to me in first and the poor flight attendant wanted the dog to be in its carrier for takeoff and of course the passenger refused. A red coat was called, apologizing profusely for the FA’s ignorance and the passenger was smug throughout the flight, including her bathroom break during which little Fifi crawled over the armrest seat into my seat and all over me. Sigh. Even as a dog lover this was outrageous and Delta of course had no response. The ESA exceptions/exemptions are out of control…
It is apparent that the dog is/was the one needing “emotional support” and it was docile because it had been beaten down by this entitled moron. Vaping by this entitled thing is/was reason enough for her to be arrested and banned from flying again. Kyle, we all know why your only comment was about the “person who took the photo” – you totally ignored the subject of the posting and decided to focus upon a non relevant aspect of why the post was being made. How liberal of you – there, I said it — now go ahead and rail on me because that seems to be all you are able to do.
If you need extra space for your dog on a plane, then you purchase an extra seat. It should be that simple. Like the guy Matthew posted about recently who bought 2 extra seats just for his dog.
Racism is okay when it’s from black people.
Lame.
YT is not derogatory, it’s an abbreviation .
It’s derogatory. I don’t like being called whitey.
Ask anyone under 30 and you’ll learn that it is a texting abbreviation for “white,” not “whitey.”
You’re white. Deal with it. It’s not derogatory to be called white. What is derogatory is saying “she sounds disgusting” based on her name, skin color, and language. So you can get all the way out of here with your racist BS
So you think it is okay to call a black person “blackie” because “they’re black. Deal wtih it.” ? What a ludicrous statement.
She sounds disgusting not based on her name, skin color, and language but because of her attitude of *racial* derision toward the jerk with the dog (both calling her whitey and this ridiculous “blackccent” business) followed by her absurd conclusion that she would be treated differently because she was black based upon facts not in evidence.
It might look/sound like ‘whitey’ to you, Matthew, but that is not how it is used…it’s just a shortened version for ‘white.’ Newsweek even published an article about it…https://www.newsweek.com/tiktok-yt-slang-white-people-trend-race-relations-1593159. And that you’ve used this to claim the woman whose seat was ask for is a bigot is, well, peak YT Supremacy.
You are showing your bigotry. The Newsweek article highlights the controversy around this term. You can take your prejudice and shove it where the sun don’t shine. I mock your blathering about supremacy when using a term that is inherently derogatory. Wake up, fool.
Homeowners Ins will not cover you if you have a Pitbull and some other bad reputation…
Exactly dee. My policy names a number of excluded breeds plus others over a particular weight. Also the insurance keeps track of bite reports, which will cancel the insurance. Even if the owner was the victim. I have used this information to stop family and others from bringing their dogs to visit as I too would be liable should something go amiss.
Juanie sounds uppity. Probably suffers from white envy. Given she wears hair extensions I believe I’m correct.
She was wearing crocs……and carrying a Louis Vutton purse. Vaping and service dog aside, that’s where all creditability was lost.
You’re offended by the term YT, yet you ‘re perfectly willing to malign an entire breed as “vicious” based on specious reasoning and anecdotal evidence. You hate pit bulls? Pretty ignorant. You hate the ONE pit bull who you were threatened by. Yes, there are vicious dogs including pit bulls. This one on the plane caused no problems, as even the complainer conceded….despite being “vicious” in your determination.
Debate over allowing emotional support dogs on board is appropriate. Leave the emotional overreaching fear mongering out of it.
Statistics show that pit bulls are a dangerous vicious breed.
“yt” is s word used by uppity blacks who suffer from white envy.
Wow. Uppity blacks? Moronic.
If you travel with a big dog and feel the need for space, buy an extra seat. This is no different than someone taking your seat and saying “if you don’t mind, find another seat.” Yes, I do mind. I paid for, and selected, that seat. I never take a randomly assigned seat. Your failure to plan, or your unwillingness to pay for a seat assignment, is not my problem. That being said, I will willingly trade like for like seat, so a family or spouses may sit together. And, usually, I am the one who extends the offer.
Since I often travel solo, I seem to get more requests to swap seats. As long as the seat is equivalent or better, I’m game.
But a request to move to accommodate an animal and the delivery of the request is rather rude…my standard response is, “I comfortable where I am.” Gotten some nasty stares, snide remarks, but I paid for my seat as well as you!!!
First of all the author is a racist POS for saying “she sounds disgusting too” in reference to woman documenting her experience. Second of all, this woman is fully within her rights to be upset because (as a former delta FA), support animals MUST occupy the space under the seat in front of the owner.
She has every right to be upset – if you bothered to read carefully what I wrote, you would see that. My issue with her is not her valid complaint about the miserable dog, but because of her racial musings that are uncalled for bigoted.
Please don’t be a bigoted POS, especially if wearing the Delta uniform.
“YT” is racist/bigoted? Are you out of your mind?
Whitey is pejorative. Enough with the pejorative terms…
Can’t believe the ignorance, bigotry, racism on this article by the author. How subjective and emotional… “hating a dog” he’s never seen. Amateur subjective bloggers living off click-baits, with limited objectivity. Don’t need this hatred in my life.
A comedian joked years ago about how no one is bolder or scarier than a young white girl in a gentrifying neighborhood jogging down the street past crackheads at 3am with her rescue pitbull.
Anyway, I have no direct disdain for these dogs. They unfortunately tend to appeal to awful people.
