Review: EgyptAir Alioth Lounge Cairo (CAI)

The EgyptAir Alitoth Lounge in Cairo Terminal 3 is easily the best EgyptAir lounge in the airport. Bright and spacious, it certainly beats the nearby Almeisan and Gienah lounges.

EgyptAir Alioth Lounge Review

Rather than offer a huge, central lounge, EgyptAir offers small lounges scattered throughout expansive Terminal 3 at Cairo International Airport.

It has been four years since I last flew through Cairo and this lounge was not here last time. Information online is sparse, but from what I can gather this lounge was remodeled in 2019. Looking through my old photos from 2017, it appeared this lounge used to be the EgyptAir Kochab smoking lounge:

The Kochab lounge is no longer listed on the EgyptAir website and I could not find it in the terminal, so I’m going to posit that the expanded and remodeled Alitoth lounge took over that space.

(if you’re a smoker, there are still plenty of indoor smoking areas in the terminal)

Location + Hours + Access Requirements

Access to this lounge is reserved for business and first class passengers as well as Star Alliance Gold members traveling in any cabin of service on a Star Alliance flight. EgyptAir Plus members with Gold, Elite, or Platinum status enjoy access, but not those with Silver status. The lounge is open 24/7 according to the EgyptAir website, but it was closed at 6:00am when I first walked by, but had opened by 8:00am. It is located in Terminal 3, near Concourse F, just past (left) the duty free shops. Clear security, walk straight, then turn left toward the F concourse.

Seating

After checking in, you can turn right or left for seating and food. The left side of the lounge is larger than the right side, but both have tables, chairs, and plenty of (220-volt) power ports. The stonework and mood lighting on the ceiling create a nice effect and give the lounge a modern feel. Round windows provide great tarmac views.

Food + Drink

All hot food is currently unavailable in EgyptAir lounges.

At 8:00am, the selection included:

  • baked breakfast breads
  • sandwiches
  • sliced vegetables
  • whole fruit
  • cereal
  • hummus
  • yogurt (labneh and fruit)
  • baba ganoush

There was also a manual coffee machine, a microwave, and a refrigerator with soft drinks and juices. Ask a member of the lounge staff if you want coffee and they will make it for you.

Restrooms

Restrooms were also remodeled and quite nice compared to the restrooms in the other EgyptAir lounges. Showers are not available in this lounge or any other EgyptAir lounge.

CONCLUSION

While the amenities here are not any different than the other EgyptAir lounges, this is a clean, spacious, recently-remodeled EgyptAir lounges. Of all the lounges in Terminal 3, this is the one I recommend.

Hi, I was at your salon lounge Cairo on April 24-25. I arrived with fly MS702 on April 24 and left with fly Ms1995 on April 25.
I staid at the lounge all that time. Unfortunatly, I lost my wallet with money in it over $200 US and $150 Canadian. It is a wallet in fabric beige and black.
In any case if some body found and returned it Please [leave a comment below]
