Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day, but when it comes to the Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt, I always opt for dinner for breakfast. Now I do the same on Emirates.
I’ve written before about the wonderful filet mignon that I start off each Lufthansa First Class trip with. There’s nothing like a high-quality cut of meat cooked on the grill with only a bit of salt and pepper. Throw in some French Fries and fresh-squeezed orange juice and you have one of my favorite meals in the world.
Thus, it was no surprise, especially when traveling with my carnivore business partner, that we did the same thing in Dubai earlier this week before our flight to Brussels aboard the 777-300ER with Emirates’ new first class.
Emirates was happy to accommodate our request to deviate from the breakfast menu even though it was just 6:15 AM:
Kudos to Emirates for an excellent steak.
And as it turns out, this wasn’t my first time eating steak for breakfast when flying Emirates. If you recall from my prior review of the Emirates First Class Lounge (from a couple of years ago), I also ordered steak for breakfast. Some things don’t change..
CONCLUSION
Other than pointing out my odd taste for pre-dawn beef tenderloin, the point of this post is to let you know that you can order off the lunch menu anytime of day when visiting an Emirates First Class lounge. If you don’t see what you want on the menu presented, ask for it.

Looks pretty good. I actually really enjoyed the cheeseburger of all things in the EK F lounges. Sure, it felt a little counter-intuitive, but that’s what I love about first class travel—it’s all about spoiling yourself with exactly what you want. Same reason I order Blue Label with lots of ice, to the continued chagrin of many a CX flight attendant.
Tasty! Last time at LH 1st Terminal I went with the Wienerschnitzel And it was delicious
I had a 7 am filet at the Emirates lounge last October prior to my 8:30 am flight to LAX. This was probably one of the best filets I’ve ever had. The flight attendants seemed surprised that I didn’t want to order any thing to eat for the first eight hours of the flight.
get a fried egg on top to make it an even better brekky!
