Yesterday was not only Easter, but April Fool’s Day.
I’ve never really understood all the jokes surrounding this day, yet several airlines take time each year…a great deal of time based on the vides below…to have fun with this day.
This year, Emirates, Virgin Australia, and WestJet released special spoofs. Here’s a look at what each carrier did:
Emirates
Emirates reveals SkyLounge, the most exclusive Onboard Lounge to be introduced on its Boeing 777X fleet from 2020. A completely transparent lounge with unmatched aerial views and unparalleled luxury, Emirates SkyLounge promises window views like no other.
Virgin Australia
Introducing Virgin Australia Spin Class, the world’s first in-flight cycling studio. We’ve partnered with Virgin Active to help our guests work up a sweat in the sky on long haul flights, and even earn Velocity Frequent Flyer Points for every kilometre they cycle, and enjoy exclusive change room and shower facilities to refresh before returning to their seat. Gear up to try Spin Class for yourself!
WestJet
Effective today, WestJet Rewards Gold members now have access to a convenient new feature in the WestJet app – a personal digital assistant. We’re also introducing a new tier for our rewards program – the Titanium Diamond tier – for our most frequent travellers.
CONCLUSION
The Virgin Australia spin class is actually a cute concept. Not so much for its comedic effect, but how well done the video was made. I’d actually love a spin class on a 14hr flight to Australia…
Urgh.
Westjet’s “Poop With Swoop” was much funnier, in my opinion.
