The EVA Air Lounge in Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport is a sizable lounge for EVA’s sizable operation in BKK.
EVA Air Lounge Bangkok Review (BKK)
I visited this lounge ahead of my Thai Airways flight to Kuala Lumpur. EVA maintains its own lounge in Bangkok even though it is not a hub city because it funnels several European departures to Taipei via Bangkok. Why? Because airspace restrictions imposed by Mainland China make nonstop flights from cities like London to Taipei very difficult to operate.
Hours + Access + Location
This lounge is located in BKK’s main terminal departure hall on the 3rd floor in the F Concourse. It is open daily from 6:00 am to 2:30 am.
It is open to:
- Star Alliance Gold members
- Star Alliance business and first class passengers (including EVA Royal Laurel, Premium Laure, and Business Class passengers)
- EVA Infinity MileageLands – Silver/Gold/Diamond cardholders (i.e. Star Alliance Silver members who are elite in EVA’s own loyalty program enjoy lounge access)
Paid access is not available. You’ll be greeted with bright lights that change colors, just like the flagship lounge in Taipei:

Lounge Map
Here’s a map of the lounge, posted near the entrance, which will give you and overview of the amenities of this lounge:

Seating
The lounge is 670 square meters (about 7,200 square feet) and has seating split into four sections, with different types of chairs and small end tables. The design of the lounge is hard to pinpoint, but it appears geared toward the stellar and galactic, a bit like Starlux…or maybe just like a casino? Power outlets are not available within reach of every seat in this lounge.

Massage Chair
If you have some extra time, try to nab the lounge’s solo massage chair…which also looks like a great place to snooze.

Food + Drink
You’ll find a wide selection of self-service food and drinks, all consolidated into a buffet area on the right side of the lounge (when walking in). Food items included Thai stir-fired noodles, Dim Sum, salads, sandwiches, soups, and snacks like potato chips, cookies, and cereal, plus ice cream, cakes, and chocolate bars for dessert.

Beverages included coffee, tea, beer, wine sprits, water, juices, carbonated soft drinks. Don’t except fancy Champagne…I didn’t even see Prosecco.

Restrooms + Showers
Restrooms and a single shower suite are available (the shower was occupied during my visit, so I don’t have any pictures).

Memories…
When my brother and I visited Taipei for the first time in 2013, we flew from Amsterdam to Taipei via Bangkok and stopped in this lounge, which looked a bit different back then:

(Sadly, I didn’t take pictures inside…I was a relatively new blogger back then)
CONCLUSION
Perhaps it is telling that I did not visit this lounge last week ahead of my EVA Airways flight to Taipei…I chose the Thai Airways Royal Prestige Lounge instead, which offers more space, an extensive cocktail menu, and barista-made coffee.
But I really have nothing negative to say about this lounge (though maybe some of you who actually ate the food here can chime in).

It’s giving Peppermill
Enjoyed this lounge prior to an Air India business class flight. The lounge is oddly a bit clubby feeling, but once you get past the disco vibe, it’s quite comfortable. Food was tasty, and the lounge was far more convenient to our gate than the contract lounge AI had instructed us to use (which was not even a Star partner lounge, if memory serves correctly).
EVA Air really has bad taste for lounge design especially their flagship Infinity lounge at TPE. Hire Studioilse and do a complete makeover, that’s what I’d say.
