Déjà Vu: Free Vacation to Las Vegas!

Matthew Klint Posted onJanuary 16, 2017January 16, 2017 5 Comments

I chuckled last night as I confirmed my second free mini-vacation to Las Vegas. Didn’t we do this six years ago?

Six years ago Gary Leff wrote about a deal on Expedia’s Canadian site that offered C$300 off a vacation package. There was no minimum spend set, meaning a one-night trip to many parts of the USA and Caribbean was free if the flight + hotel combination was under C$300. The Loonie was much stronger then…

Expedia pulled the promo quickly, but honored the deal. I ended up booking 15 trips for myself, family, and friends and landed a lead story in ABC News.

Yesterday, Gary Leff wrote about a deal via JetBlue Vacations that offered $150 off a vacation packet. There was no minimum spend set, meaning a one-night trip to many parts of the USA was free if the flight + hotel combination was under $150.

JetBlue has since changed the terms and conditions of the promo to require a minimum $2,000 spend to qualify for the discount. But not before I booked two trips!

Heidi has never been to Las Vegas and I have been putting off the trip for the right time. Now is the time! Soon we will be departing on JetBlue for Las Vegas for a two-day, one-night, mini-vacation. Frankly, that is all the time I need in Las Vegas. If we like it, we will go again in the spring. All free.

Flights depart early and leave late so you can probably catch us in the American Express Centurion Lounge in Las Vegas before and after our flight, but we will manage. Augustine is coming along too!

Thank you to JetBlue Vacations for the generous discount on our trips to Las Vegas!

I have not been back to Long Beach Airport since the last time I had a free Vegas vacation!

SO bummed I missed this one. Too late to the game here. Have a blast in Vegas. It’s a food lovers paradise with amazing restaurants. Hopefully you’re going when it’s a bit warmer so you can enjoy some pool time.

The first blog I saw it was DansDeals. VFTW HT’ed DD waaaaay down at the bottom when the HT should be on the very top. Must be a Boarding Area thing I guess.

Gary did tip the hat to Dan’s Deals, but I saw it first on Gary’s blog.

The proper etiquette in that case is to say something like “H/T to Dan’s Deals via VFTW”.
