Playboy Bunny’s Giant Rabbit Dies on United Flight

Matthew Klint Posted onApril 26, 2017April 26, 2017 10 Comments

A former Playboy bunny who embarked on a career in plus-size rabbit breeding claims her perfectly healthy rabbit mysteriously died on a United flight from London to Chicago.

Simon the Rabbit was already three feet long and destined to becomes world’s largest rabbit. Here’s his father with breeder Annette Edwards–

Edwards claimed–

Simon had a vet’s check-up three hours before the flight and was fit as a fiddle. Something very strange has happened and I want to know what. I’ve sent rabbits all around the world and nothing like this has happened before.

In any case, the rabbit had been purchased by a celebrity client, cost $2500 to send to Chicago, and costs $5000/year to care for.

But he was found dead after a longhaul flight in the cargo hold of a United 767-300. Or perhaps not…

Edwards claims he died on the flight but also states that United told her the rabbit died in a storage room at O’Hare Airport.

United is apologetic–

We were saddened to hear this news. The safety and well-being of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our PetSafe team. We have been in contact with our customer and have offered assistance. We are reviewing this matter.

Edwards, a former Playboy model who had plastic surgery to look like Jessica Rabbit from the Roger Rabbit movie, is grieving.

CONCLUSION

A couple months ago I wrote a story called Woman Claims United Airlines Killed Her Dog in which I advised against ever checking a pet. I know it is not economical to take a boat across the Atlantic to deliver a rabbit, but this sort of thing happens far too often for comfort. The better solution: identify it as an emotional support animal and keep it in the cabin.

Not to be crass, but I’m also hearing rumors that rabbit stew will be served on Pole-hare-is flights next month out of O’Hare.. We all cope with hare loss differently…

Instead of a “Like” button I think websites need ‘WTF” buttons. I’d click it twice for this lady 🙂

In what universe could a three-foot-long rabbit ever be considered “fit as a fiddle”?? I imagine that thing would have heart problems galore, akin to those seen in large dogs.

This is not news. This lady is a crazy person. What likely happened is that he bunny died due to stress or other factors outside of UA’s control. I’ve “checked” my dog with United at least five times on 13 hour transpacific flights with nothing but great service. I know countless other people with the same experience on UA. If you animal isn’t fit or may not have the right temperament don’t put them on a plane. This is squarely on this lady.

Rabbits are extremely fragile – they don’t respond well to temperature changes or stress. You would think the lady would have known better than to put it in the cargo hold.

She was a Playboy model, not a Bunny.

I think given the subject matter the artistic license is acceptable!
