Hyatt will soon opens its fourth property in Bangkok, a five-star Hyatt Regency on Sukhumvit Road. The new hotel looks stunning.
The new property was supposed to open this month, but reservations are still not available for stays before January 01, 2019. Located on Sukhumvit Soi 13 within walking distance of the BTS Nana station, the new hotel will offer a nice oasis from the bustling Bangkok streets below.
The hotel will include 273 rooms/suites, seven Regency Club floors, a 24/7 gym, five restaurants and bars, and free smartphone service with data for use in Bangkok. If you read my recent Grand Hyatt Hong review, there was also a smart phone in the room with free international calling and 4G data.

The guest rooms appear spacious and well-appointed. I hate to pay exorbitant prices for food/drink in Bangkok, but sometimes it is nice to eat-in. The pool looks great.
CONCLUSION
While Bangkok is not my favorite city, I do appreciate the excellent assortment of high-end hotels at reasonable prices. $173/night is a lot of Bangkok, but this is certainly the hotel I’ll try next time I am in town.

Any idea what the neighborhood is like? I’ve stayed at the Grand Hyatt before, but it’s far too sanitized since the street vendors were evicted.
Points bookings don’t yet appear to be available, but when they are it will easily be the best points value for Hyatts in BKK.
Not a favorite city? I wonder what makes a city a favorite for people? I think it’s the intangibles. I love BKK. I have been to many many large cities and it is my second favorite behind NYC (probably because I’m most comfortable there). To me it’s the feel of the city that’s special. But it did take a 1/2 star retreat after sequestering the street vendors to less noticeable locations.
It also helps that it is still rather inexpensive.
On the other hand I detest Manila. I don’t even know why other than it just feels so dirty. But what do I know?
I have a P&C reservation here for 4 days in February. Looks like a nice addition to the Hyatt footprint in Bangkok.
It looks oddly familiar. Did they get the same designers as the Marriott Bangkok Surawongse?
Thanks for this. Makes me wonder if Hyatt is planning to leave the Grand Hyatt Erawan property. It’s dated (but I love it) and a super location for connectivity to the SkyTrain.
