After years of hinting and internal discussion, JetBlue officially announced today that it will open lounges in its two hub airports, New York (JFK) and Boston (BOS). Let’s take a look at the timeline and who will have access to the JetBlue lounges.
Details: JetBlue Will Open Lounges In BOS + JFK – Who Can Access Them?
As early as 2021 JetBlue was telling employees that it planned to open its own lounges. When Aer Lingus vacated its Terminal 5 lounge at JFK in 2023, I expected an imminent announcement that JetBlue would take over that space and perhaps even incorporate the outdoor area into its flagship lounge.
Today, JetBlue finally and officially announced it would be opening a pair of lounges:
- JFK Terminal 5 – 8,000 square foot lounge – opening late 2025
- BOS Terminal C – 11,000 square foot lounge – opening “soon thereafter”
What Will The Lounges Look Like?
Both new lounges will have blue brand elements “weaved together” with local and regional artwork, designed around three unique areas:
- Play: Unwind and socialize as JetBlue brings the ‘fun’ in functionality to the lounge experience while customers can also relax as mixologists shake and stir their favorite complimentary alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at a full-service bar.
- Work: Stay connected and fully charged with private workspaces featuring fast and free Wi-Fi, an abundance of outlets to plug in and free barista-made coffee bar beverages.
- Lounge: Enjoy familiar hospitality with complimentary food and beverage offerings. Kick back alone or with groups throughout the lounge in comfortable, cozy seating areas
On a personal note, I’m thrilled the lounges will have barista-made coffee!
JetBlue Lounge Access Rules
JetBlue has already shared which passengers will have access to these lounges:
- Holders of a new premium JetBlue credit card (details to be announced)
- TrueBlue Mosaic 4 members
- Transatlantic Mint customers
JetBlue will also sell annual passes, day passes, and guest passes, (with the latter two available for purchase by additional eligible customers based on space availability).
CONCLUSION
At long last, JetBlue has officially announced plans to open its first two lounges, the first opening at JFK in late 2025 and the second in BOS shortly thereafter. This is long overdue and will add value to the JetBlue premium cabin experience (and also make elite status more valuable).
I’m hoping that JetBlue will next officially announce its MiniMint domestic premium cabin product, which will also make JetBlue a much more competitive carrier for premium cabin travelers.

images: my own conceptions of what the lounge could look like…NOT official renderings
Wow, those AI generated images look ridiculous
Please call out that the images are AI-generated and not part of the official release
I did…from the very start.
I can’t see any kind of disclaimer in the article, nor did searching for “AI” or “artificial” reveal anything.
read the bottom…
“images: my own conceptions of what the lounge could look like…NOT official renderings”
Ah, sorry, I missed that past the end of the article. In that small, italicized text it gets lost between the Conclusion, the Read More link, and the large ad.
I would love for a lounge to look like this anyway.
It’s important to keep in mind that only Mint to Europe will get lounge access, not JFK-LAX or SFO. That’s in contrast to AA, UA and DL. Jetblue has a few flights daily to London and the rest are summer only. So only a minimal number of people will benefit from this.
On the one hand, I am surprised JetBlue didn’t release their own renderings on how the lounges will look. On the other hand, given that the earliest one of them will be opening is at least a year away, maybe they still haven’t settled on a final design for the lounges yet?
I feel San Juan and Fort Lauderdale will be somewhere in the pipeline in the next few years.
If there had been a lounge in LAX, maybe B6 would have stood its ground on the West Coast. A lost opportunity!!
