Wow: Boisterous Karen Refuses To Get Off United Flight…

UPDATE: Turns out she was (eventually) removed. That’s very good news.

A boisterous woman with a foul mouth refused to get off a United Airlines flight even after a member of ground staff boarded to remove her. Amazingly, it appeared that “Karen” was allowed to remain onboard by simply refusing to get off. How could this happen? Thankfully, she was eventually thrown off.

After Being Asked To Step Off United Flight, Karen Refuses…

We don’t know the flight number (yet), but we can see she is seated in first class and clearly agitated. Three videos attest that:

Absolutely appalled by @united handling of a terrifying situation on my flight back from PR. Despite being harassed by a threatening passenger, they failed to take swift action & allowed her to remain on the flight. Safety should be the #1 priority #UnitedAirlines #CustomerSafety pic.twitter.com/JibipkGa38

Amazingly, a member of ground staff enters the aircraft to remove her and she flat out refuses to get off the plane (“I’m not leaving!”).

She looks drunk. She looks erratic. It’s the sort of passenger that could be a ticking time bomb at any point of the flight. Those who do not drink responsibility or those who cannot exercise self-control in their language are not fit to fly.

Like View From The Wing, I have never seen an incident like before. Of course we do live on this side of the David Dao incident…United is surely not going to drag someone off a plane…at least when there are other passengers around to record it.

But the protocol here should have been to offload the entire plane then if she refused to walk off voluntarily, drag her off.

And someone who is drunk can be a menace to themselves and others. Based on the videos above, she did not belong on that flight. I’m glad that she was eventually removed (no video of that).

CONCLUSION

An out-of-control passenger cannot be allowed to remain onboard. It is always easier to deal with a problematic passenger on the ground than in the air. While she may have been allowed to protest too long, at least she was finally removed…

The airline could contract a medical service to evaluate these individuals via video call and make a determination of what needs to be done next. Staff is not a substitute for mental health evaluations.

But if she appears drunk, you err on the side of caution and remove her.

Nah… if an urgent mental health evaluation is needed for someone on a plane, the answer is to deplane the individual and let the urgent mental health eval be done by professionals in a non-aviation setting.

If you can’t hold your crap together enough to make it through a short haul flight in domestic first class, then you shouldn’t be a passenger on a plane.

Blame it all on that “Doctor” as you mentioned. Because he had to throw a fit airlines are now more cautious. And of course everyone has their phones out immediately looking to try and get a few Elon bucks and become famous.

Let’s face it, she probably passed out shortly after takeoff and if she would have tried anything it would have been easy for passengers to take her down.

Like it or not we live in a world where companies live with the daily threat of bad publicity and lawsuits. And make decisions based upon that fear.

Exactly, that’s the world that “we” decided we watched. A world governed by misinformed people on social media that probably travel once a year at most

Good grief. It makes me wonder how out of control people even make it to the gate.

I had a similar Karen try to get me to move from my economy aisle seat to the middle seat. He (honorary Karen, including things I observed prior to departure) looked sour that I didn’t jump at the prospect of enjoying the middle seat and proved his lack of grownup bona fides by leaning into me for the entire flight. I was sorely tempted to rub on him in return but my wife and the rest of my group across the aisle might have disapproved if I had gotten into a tussle so I practiced my adulting skills.

Not surprised a Reich Winger would refer to themselves as a famous Nazi from the Afrika Korps, just surprised one would do it publicly.

Lol lefties are more concerned with people not being able to groom children than the hordes of vermin crossing the border. But we know the left wants it because it keeps their black slaves and replaces votes they are annoyed with.

That’s all they have left. Grooming & ‘woke’…..they know how stupid their base is, so they’ll keep at it, and keep losing. But the arsenal is pretty spare these days.

Any pax that appears to be drunk, medically induced, or sick within the gateroom and their condition has been brought to the attention to the customer agent working that flt, that pax should not have been allowed to board and fly if that customer agent had followed pax service protocol. The question is was thw customer service agent an UAL employee or an airport hire hand from a outside vender? Employee hires, training and age life experience comes into play here, yes? It’s VERY hard to have good reliable employees these days. Also that “karen” could have snuck alcohol onboard her carryon esp from PR.

The Dao incident cost UA a wonderful CEO who was implementing positive changes at the airline. It wasn’t even United’s fault, since it took place on a Republic flight. And Dao deserved it for not obeying the cabin crew and gate staff. I’m totally in favor of arming FAs with Tasers (with proper training) so we stop getting incidents like this and the WN Hawaii flight brawl.

100%, the guy was a crybaby. But instead a few other snowflakes tried to make him a hero.

The guy was 69 and should have been retired but instead he thought he was some entitled “Doctor”. Should have been sent back to Vietnam decades earlier for his support of the killing of American soldiers.

Terrible human being that should be on a watchlist.

        @Dave Edward’s

Dr. Dao was 69 and you have snowflakes issues?

What about the two guys both about a decade older.
        Should they retire too?
Instead we gave them nuclear weapons.

I’m sure China or Russia isn’t what’s keeping them up at night. It’s their urge to urinate.

Amazing how FA have lost the skill of reading passengers as they board. Its part of your training also know as observation skill. Horribly lacking among USA Airlines. Always in a hurry..

In the wake of the David dao incident the procedures have changed. You can clearly hear her say she isn’t leaving and people are already videoing the freak show.

As a result of the abhorrent behavior, they have to clear the plane so then she has no choice but to leave. Yes it’s a total inconvenience to the normal humans but there will be no video of her getting dragged off if it were to come to that.
