Coup Attempt In Sudan Leads To Airport Attack: Multiple Aircraft Destroyed, Two Killed

Civil unrest has led to an attempted coup this morning in Sudan, with rebel military forces occupying key government facilities and a trio of airports including Khartoum Airport. A Saudia Airbus A330 aircraft is thought to be one of the aircraft destroyed in the firefight. At least two people are reportedly dead.

Khartoum Airport Under Attack, Two Aircraft Destroyed, Casualties Reported In Larger Coup Attempt

The Rapid Support Forces (RSF), Sudan’s main paramilitary group, launched a barrage of attacks this morning, claiming it was attacked first. It claims that Sudan’s Army was attempting a coup under the direction of ousted President Omar Hassan al-Bashir and it was merely acting in defense (with a coup attempt of its own).

The RSF has up to 100,000 members and a fierce battle is currently underway in Khartoum and other Sudanese cities. It was the RSF and army that worked together to overthrow Bashir in 2019. Since then, power sharing between the armed forces, the RSF, and civilians have been fragile and the RSF and military have disagreed on how power should be consolidated ahead of planned democratic elections. Today’s attack throws the prospect of democratic transition into disarray.

Among the RSF targets was Khartoum International Airport (KRT), where pictures have emerged of a smoldering Airbus A330 aircraft belonging to Saudi, the flag carrier of Saudi Arabia (registration HZ-AQ30). BBC reports two people were killed in that attack, with others killed in coordinated attacks around the Khartoum capital region. A SkyUp Airlines Boeing 737-800 also appears to be destroyed (registration UR-SQA).

This is breaking news.

There might have been some bud light on that plane so I think this was a good thing

Aside from bud light being nasty, along with most American beer, I’m not really understanding the boycotts. To boycott AB you’d need to stop purchasing all of these brands. Interesting though that the AB CEO worked for the CIA. The right is linking that to the transgender agenda being pushed by them. Who knows. I don’t drink so doesn’t matter to me one way or another.

Interesting. Just saw this. Maybe the silent majority is bigger than people think?

Bud Light’s parent company Anheuser-Busch InBev has lost more than $6 billion in market cap in just six days after Dylan Mulvaney partnership sparked backlash

        – Bud Light’s parent company has lost more than $6 billion in market capitalization since announcing its partnership with a transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney
        – In the days leading up to the announcement, shares for the Belgium-based brewer had been trading around $66 – a high not seen since before the pandemic
        – As the market closed Wednesday, the beer giant’s stock was trading at roughly $63, a more than 5 percent decrease in Anheuser-Busch’s total share value

Do we change our profile bios to add the Sudan flag with the Ukraine flag, or is the rule one flag at a time?

The comments section on this post shows how much you care about making money without a shred of decency, and don’t give me the “freedom of speech” crap when you clearly have a racist slur up there and choose to do nothing about it.

    Shame on you.
