Hello from Santa Monica, CA. I dined with some very dear clients who have become friends last night. Not knowing LA traffic, I hedged my bets and left early. Thankfully, traffic moved much better than my GPS suggested and I made it early. So now I’m writing the week in review in my car as I wait.
I write a lot about United Airlines on Live and Let’s Fly because United is my carrier. This week we saw a number of stories concerning United including a questionable attack by the CEO against Gulf carriers and the announcement of exclusively lie-flat service on the Boston – San Francisco market. In the next couple days, I will analyze United’s domestic growth strategy, which has become quite aggressive.
On the redemption side, KrisFlyer announced a devaluation this week. Although fuel surcharges will be limited, prices will rise for Singapore Airlines awards. While the devaluation is mild, it is a devaluation nonetheless.
