Live and Let’s Fly Weekend Digest: April 23, 2017

Matthew Klint Posted onApril 23, 2017April 23, 2017 1 Comment

Another week, another onboard airline altercation gone viral.

I’ve spent most of the day offline today. My goal is to take one day off per week–not always possible, but my wife puts up with a lot during the week so it seems fitting that at least one day per week should not be spent hunched over the computer.

I realize that the steady downpour of onboard passenger incidents gets old. I’m doing my best to vary my writing with trip reports, travel tips, and other news, but it is hard to resist dissecting each story. Every incident opens the “hood” of the human mind and paints a picture of the stark juxtaposition between two sides of a story. While I hope to provide sufficient content to keep you entertained if you skip what has become a new miniseries, I cannot ignore it.

This week I plan to catch up on two small recent trip reports — the flights from my recent Europe trip as well as a couple hotel reviews plus the Turkish economy class report from Istanbul to Los Angeles and review of the Hyatt Centric Levent Istanbul.

Every weekend now for the last month we’ve had a viral incident. Will the week ahead be any different?

Matthew, I’d like to disagree with you in your assertion that news stories like the ones this week get old. Of course, from a standpoint that they happen and the fact that they happen, that gets old. But please don’t stop writing about these stories if you think that they are important and interesting. I find those posts informative and they are interesting, even if the incidents happen way too much in this world.
