Earlier I shared a compilation of all the airline holiday videos for 2023. Here, I want to focus on Love In Plane Sight, a rom-com film created by United Airlines for the festive season.
Cute Holiday Film From United Airlines – Love In Plane Sight
This video debuted weeks ago, but I held off on writing it (and honestly, watching it) until today. Quite honestly, I loved it. Sappy and predictable as a Hallmark Channel movie, but it was very cute…and my son Augustine loved it too.
The familiar storyline involves a man and woman who unexpectedly bump into each other at the airport, here Denver Airport. She’s carrying coffee and wearing a white sweater and he runs into her in his rush to board his flight. Yes, you guessed it. Turns out they are on the same flight…and sitting next to each other…in the Polaris honeymoon seats.
They chat a little bit but it gets a little awkward, until they work together to calm a crying baby. That brings them together and the rest is history…
This video does a great of job of product placement, including:
- The Club Fly Lounge in Denver (with grab-and-go items and barista-made coffee)
- Polaris Business Class
- Ice cream sundaes, as part of the Polaris soft product
As United describes it:
This holiday season, United created a holiday rom-com made for travel-lovers, literally – “Love in Plane Sight.” Just in time for the busy holiday travel season, the airline’s original short film delivers cheeky, feel-good, festive entertainment while highlighting all the ways customers can travel easier with United this holiday season.
The original United production chronicles a quintessential holiday movie “meet cute,” filmed and at Denver International Airport and onboard a United aircraft and featuring cameos from real United employees, while weaving in United offerings to help busy travelers this season, like Bag Drop Shortcut, Live Activities through the United app and the comforts of the airline’s international business class Polaris. In the film, United also highlights its sustainability aviation fuel (SAF) program in a simple, consumer-friendly way.
So I’m not about to watch any Hallmark movies today, but I did think this was a well-done film that brought a smile to my face. It’s nice to see United produce a little holiday movie.
I see both you AND your son are easily amused.
I’m sure this makes the wokesters in the United Marketing Dept feel good, but what a load of BS. Flying that airline is a nightmare. Where did they get the flight attendants from. Very good actors I guess, because it is nothing like the experience. What a fraud. I have a good mind to take them to the Consumer Affairs Bureau for false advertising.
It is bad, really really bad.
